Hmmm..... Already got the low-end Lancer's out. Starts out at $13k and tops out at $18k without any options from the 2.0L MIVEC motor pushing 152hp. What I am not liking, is that the Lancer looks just like the Evo is going to look like. Just a few syling cues, and the most noticable things are going to end up being the hood scoop and the wing. Thats one of the reason's why I liked the Evo. Even though it was in the same family, it looked way different as everything else was way different inside and under the hood. Sad, because I can already see a new generation of ricers. ![]() Because they are doing this, I think that they might as well come out with a $22k FWD version of the EvoX. |

that is pretty much his problem [rofl] The Evo has always been way different compared to the sister Lancer cars, but this time there is going to be few differences. The average Joe will be able to tell that it is from the same family, as before you could barely notice. Still a nice looking car though. But I think that it would be super cool if they went ahead and came out with a FWD Evo for a little over $20k. Those things would sell like hot cakes, help bring Mitsu back into the public eye a little, and take the old SRT4's place, and depending on how the new SRT4 performs, that could be some stiff competition right there especially being made off the same manufacturing lines. Thats when we would see which technology / motor is really better. Plus it would also be some good competition for the Mazda3Speed for the same price range. |

Most of the guys at evolutionm.net are very glad that they have IX's and earlier models because the new one looks too different & seems to have lost some of the car's character. I know I'm glad I bought mine when I did, not interested in the X much. Plus, they did away with the 4G63 motor, which is heresy LOL. The 4G63 is so easy to mod & responds to mods extremely well. Mods that are very cheap, when compared to other imports trying to make similar power. People who buy X's might not have access to the inexpensive mods & aftermarket parts that make great power like the owners of VIII and IX models do, but we'll have to wait & see...
Have you seen the Ralliart concept of the X? It looks more aggressive. Much more deserving of the Evo tag than the standard X (in the looks department anyhoo)... |

I think its great, it looks better than the previous Lancers (even though its lost the box like styling Lancers are known for).
But i like the fact that people can now by a normal Lancer that looks similar to a Evo instead of 1.6L "Lancers" that had nothing in common with the Evo. Subaru offered Imprezas that were basically the same thing as the WRX/STI except with less power, but mechanically and visually fairly similar to their more expensive counterparts. And IMO the styling and interior of this new Lancer blows away the Impreza, Mitsubishi have really raised the bar with this model, hopefully Subaru follow suit and stop using old plastic spoons for making the dashboard. |

I like the fact that the new Evo will blend in, The old one well let's just say cops know about them. I also love the new style looks honestly, even compared to the old Evo which I thought was good looking.
I do not like the idea that the new Evo X is rumored to weigh 200 lbs more than the car it replaces, the engine weighs 50 lbs less, so why is the car so chubby? The new WRX lost 50 lbs, but the Evo gains 200? The 4G63T is a really good engine, the 4B11T was designed from the ground up by Mitsubishi, Chrysler, and Hyundai, Mitsu engineers say that it was designed to have a lot of room for boost, so I an hopeful that the new engine will mod well, I doubt it will live up to the legend of the 4G63T which some racing shops have manged to squeeze about 1500 hp out of in drag cars that run 1/4 mile times in the high 7's. The good would be, more modern/comfortable interior, more features, even Cruise control, a healthy boost to stock HP the most likely rumors I have heard are 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, or 329 hp and 300 lb-ft. And the 6 speed DSG style tranny. Acceleration is rumored to improve to apx 4.5 second for 0~60 and 12.5~13 seconds for the 1/4. That is fast. As for the a Mini Evo, Rumor is that the new Ralliart will have around 230 hp, from a light pressure turbo, and an AWD system that will be less advanced than what is in the EVO, for around 24~25K, this would make it a direct competitor for the base WRX. Also the 174 hp 2.4l engine should also show up in the Lancer hopefully in the GTS. Because I will be a bit sad if the Ralliart only has 174 hp and no AWD this time around. |

13,000 Us $ for a brand new Car,.. I don't think that anything is powered, but it comes with front and side impact air bags, no A/C 27/37 mpg for the 5-Speed manual for a 1.6L pushing 103hp. |

Well with the old EPA ratings, it would have been 25/31. IMO it is still extremely low. You would think more like 30/35 or something like that. |
