I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding you, but photo albums (real ones) are like.. white pages with plastic bits over the top with gaps in the side so you can slide your photos in there. I can't think how a program would help you make one of those...

That´s exactly what i´d like.
A prog that has a typical "Book" layout, falts where you can stick in your jpeg pics and then maybe even type in a nice comment on each page.

A virtual photo book,..

Ahh, I see now. The only album stylee program I know of is picasa which has various ways of showing your photos, and you can have comments and stuff, but it's not "olde style". It's the kind of program you'd get bundled with a digital camera, so I'm sure someone will have seen something like it.

If you're talking about printing, then why not just use word? Design a template and just add the content as and when....

Nah not for printing, more as a offline thing i could burn onto a cd and give away to family/friends.
I always have the feeling just giving someone a cd full of pics is so cold and heartless.
A photo album with comments etc kinda seems a bit "warmer",..

Anyways i´ve been thinking of making a flash typ thingy, but the time/work involved would be massive [thumbdown]

Well iPhoto does what you want, but it's Mac only.

Picasa allows you to make movies from your photos (so they could watch them on a DVD player).
