Are you addicted to your PC

How much time do you spend a day on your PC. If its a lot what do you do ?

Me, during the week it is ussually about 6 hours a day but on the weekend it is much more. Probably 10 to 12 hours a day at least..sometimes I max at 15 to 18 hours. It used to be around 12 hours a week untill I got in a lousy relationship so I dont work out anymore, I dont go anywhere except work and the store. I actually quit working out when I got a PC.

Maybe I am addicted to both the woman and the PC..hmmmmm. Maybe woman bad, PC good. Probably neither good. Hmmmm We dont have much in common so she ussually watches TV and just says go play because we cant ever agree on programs. Pretty much everything I like either offends her or she just has no interest. But shes faithfull, responsible and honest. We were split for a year and I know those are hard to find in the same person so before anyone asks...thats why I stay.

On the PC I mostly play FPS games and Thief Fan Missions. When I dont have a good game to play I just surf aimlessly looking for single player maps for games I have already played or whatever floats my boat. Google news. Art Bell, George Norey on Coast to Coast AM.

Did I say she's pretty hot too :/

Edit: I ment the PC...LOL

Agedprepdoock 12-28-2006 12:13 PM

yup, right now that im off school and work, about 12 hours...when I'm working and going to school, some days 1-2 hours and others 4-5...depends, coz when I go to school, its until 1:30pm, then start work @ 3:30...so doesn't leave much time for my pc...

Addicted? what?

Wheegiabe 12-28-2006 08:00 PM

i am on my pc at work for about 7hrs a day, get home and i spend more time

but tbh i am getting to the point now where i get home and i can't be arsed to go on my pc

Yarikoff 12-28-2006 09:03 PM

I sit in front of a computer most of my work day, yet I manage to squeeze in several hours at home. I do so different things at home, play games, process photos etc so it doesn't become boring. I even have my laptop with me when I watch TV.

I suppose I'm a bit addicted to PC's in general. Although I can manage without one easily, not home alone though.

Aceroassert 12-28-2006 09:07 PM

Unless there's something to do outside I'm sitting in front of my PC. The types of activities there are to do in the town I live in don't really interest me.

GSgCGxsF 12-28-2006 11:56 PM

I'm not averse to doing other things outside, but when I'm at home alone it's either TV or PC, and TV sucks. My TV comes on when I eat to watch the news, and that's it.

I don't play games as much as I used to, I usually end up just surfing and soaking in even more useless trivia.

I am however addicted to the gym and rowing. I bought myself a bike for chrimbo and I think i may be getting addicted to that aswell :S

asivisepo 12-29-2006 03:43 AM

I easily spend 12+ hours a day on my PC, every day. Sad, really.

HenriRow 12-29-2006 03:47 AM

Well thanks guys..I guess Im not alone. Like the rowing guy I wish I could be as enthusiastic about excercise as I used to be.

Theariwinna 05-14-2007 07:36 AM

Someone needs to invent a peddle chair or desk so we can exercise while on the PC all night and day. I would use it. Since I bought my first PC I have gained 50 lbs..some of that is age but I am sure the beer+food+siting so much have contributed.

PhotoSHOPadob 05-14-2007 07:48 AM

Yes, I'm addicted to my PC. I use it mostly for forums, random surfing and gaming. For gaming I use the X360 mostly these days but that comes down to the same thing.

However, I also like to read when I have a lot of spare time, and when conditions are right my motorbike gets a lot more attention than my PC. With going out with friends, school, internship and work at McDonald's, I don't always have the time to spend behind the computer. I consider that a very good thing. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...ies/blush1.gif

I am interested ...do you think anyone would actually use "An exercise desk" Picture yourself comfortably reclined and using your PC while burning calories. Peddling underneath. I think some people would. There is many who need to including myself. I know to some it sounds like a pathetic idea but is it really ? When I used to go to the gym and almost all the elliptical and peddle machines had a spot to put a book and many people used it. What do you think ?

ScosyGissiok 05-14-2007 08:59 AM

12 hours is the bare minimum tbh...

I wonder if people could concentrate on surfing the web / working on a document, ánd working out at the same time. Feel free to start typing while moving your legs up and down...

I doubt I'd use it.

12 hours a day ? Me too on the weekend. During the week I ussualy get on after work about 4PM and dont stop playing around untill about 1 AM unless I stop for a few hours to entertain the fiance". That isn't counting the time at work spent on a PC.
