Why am I not allowed to put homosexual in the title? Are you mods homophobic?

You were implying that UPS was a homosexual, how this has any reflection on the mods, I dont know, but considering the rubbish you post in these forums, it seems like your usual attention ***** stuff.

Seems very similar to the the thread you had to title 'black rapper'. The mods removed black, does that mean they are racist. No, it's you with the issues.

Have some bloody respect for others on the forum.

OK, firstly I didn't change the thread topic so don't moan to me about it. If anything though, removing "homosexual" from the title would imply the mod isn't homophobic. You are implying that UPS is **** and hence the title "UPS=homosexual" implies you think homosexuals are ****. It's you that is homophobic.

Secondly, why even bump this thread? You didn't ask a question and in fact, posting nothing even remotely interesting so I'm not sure what sort of replies you were expecting.

kabelshik 08-05-2007 03:07 PM

I think oblisk expected everyone to agree with him that yes, UPS IS gay! They are my last choice of shipping method.

Import anything over £18 and you risk paying VAT *shrug* I'm just used to that now, and most delivery companies then charge duties on top of that because they had to go through the VAT process etc which makes it wind up being hideously expensive sometimes xS DHL have charged me upwards of £20 just for their time and sorting the VAT out etc.

NP. You should always get people to mark packages down as "GIFT" too caus that seems to reduce the likelyhood customs will charge you on it sometimes... though I think in theory they still should.

And this is also why most DVDs on playusa.com are priced at £17.99 - No VAT [thumbup]

My daughter is 6 next week, are you available to come along to her party and maybe give a small talk?

Can customs actually open the package to see what they're valued at?

If they can't see a stated value or have a reason to believe it's false. Yep [thumbdown] The problem is, you can undervalue the package on the label, but then you won't be able to claim back the full price on the insurance if something goes wrong. It's kinda a toss up.

TriammaMade 08-05-2007 09:51 PM

Yes customs are allowed to open the package for whatever reason.

Marking as gift worked maybe a few years ago. It also worked when i sent cookies back to europe and stuff

all other things were opened and checked for invoices/value etc.

when ordering from play.com it took them like 10 weeks to deliver because of customs waiting time in frankfurt and for one item i got charged. the other separate package went through. so a little bit of luck is also involved
