Youīre walking through a dark forrest path in the middle of the night,..
Itīs 2 AM, you had a hard day at work, the weather is shitty and you just canīt wait to get home.
On the way home your car stops, crap the ****ing motorīs busted. Pissed off you grab in your pocket just to realize that you left your cell phone at work. Great, luckily itīs only 3 miles home (if you take the path through the forrest) otherwise itīs a 7 mile walk. Being tired as you are, you take the path,.. Walking through the eary forrest half way home you suddenly get a very strange feeling as if your being watched, your heartbeat rises, the fog around you seams to be getting denser, you walk faster, and then a light misty glow appears 5m infront of you! scared shitless and unable to move you make out something moving towards you. A,... - Ghost appears (foggy apperition, resembling a tortured/murdered landsman from the 1700īs) - Alien creature appears (a thin, 2m tall grey alien with big black eyes) Shocked and stiffer than my *cough* in the morning you,... A. Which of both scenarios would scare you the most ? Alien or Ghost ? B. What would you do after pissing your pants ? C. Both situations (asuming your not already a believer) would pretty much prove to you that either there is a life after death, or other intelligent lifeforms outside of this planet. What would be harder for you to comprehend ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @ mods, iīd love to see this thread stay in GD (damn polls section sucks [thumbdown]) |
A. The ghost. At least you can kill the alien.
B. I'd probably cower on the ground and hope that it would leave on its own. I f**king hate ghosts. C. It would be much harder for me to comprehend the nature of the ghost. To me, it's pretty much a no-brainer that the galaxy contains intelligent life other than mankind. |
A) Probably the ghost, because I think seeing an real alien would be kind of cool
B) Well if it looked like they wanted to do me harm, I would treat them like any other mortal criminal and run as fast as I could from them. C) Well I think both probably exist (although I have never seen any of them myself, so wouldn't say they 100% do exist). |
The ghost would certainly scare me more.
If I saw the ghost I would run away as it may be sacred ground I was on. If I saw an alien, I would not be afraid because I would think that they must have much superior technology then us (since they were able to make it to earth and land undetected) and the alien was only observing (since it could kick humanity's ass if it wanted to but it hasn't yet). I might say hello even. |
A) Ghost. Not sure if the alien would be pants-changing frightening, but an "apparition, resembling a tortured/murdered landsman from the 1700īs" would be.
B) 1) Ghost- Run, hide, or run and hide. Depending on if it was chasing me, how fast it was etc. Alien- Look, fail to speak, then (if it did anything other then leave) run, hide, run/hide combo (see above). C) I'd have to say the life after death one. Not that it's so hard to believe there can be life, but that it would consist of hanging around desolate areas and occasionally scaring people. |
A., Ghost definitely
B., Ghost: Run for my life Alien: I'd be curious, and I would want to see how it reacts to seeing me C., Definitely the ghost and the thought of afterlife, I believe that neither exists, whilst with intelligent aliens I just don't know whether they do or not. Oh, and interesting thread Golem! http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/cool1.gif |
Hmm, ghost of a tortured/murdered landsman? [shocked]
Yep, I think I might faint first. Then when I come around to, and if it's still there (plus not having a extra set of boxers on me) I'd run. Alien? Well, I'll greet it will the hand gesture I learned from the "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" flick http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/cool1.gif ... ... (and hope I'm not really flippin' it the "Birdie" which will then make me a prime candidate for abduction and have a close encounter with an alien rectal probe).[thumbdown] |
A.Ghost
B.Wouldn't piss pants (heart rate would be very high though)..would check remianing amount of ilicit substances, look again...Stand there and probably think it was cool unless it started to do suspicious things..in which case I would now know that life after death were possible...so I'd try to talk to it and make some kind of "demonic" pact. C.Hmm,I think both are about as likely so I'm not sure there's a winner. |
A) ghost
B) depends.. if it didnt see me i would take cover and observe it... if it was coming towards me i would run for it C) ghosts... intelligent life on other stars seems easier and more probable to believe... considering how many other stars and planets there are its very likely |
A. Alien. Ghosts can't harm people.
B. Immediately ascertain if the supposed alien is friendly. Then try to document the encounter and verify that the creature is indeed from another world, as to prove to the media I'm not crazy. I'd probably then have to spend the rest of my life hiding from the G-man. C. Alien. If I saw a ghost, I know I was hallucinating and need treatment. Ghosts don't exist. Extraterrestrial life certainly exists, but I would have a difficult time learning how it got here and why a creature so advanced that it can travel thousands of light years was doing wandering aimlessly in a forest. Although I'd still be highly skeptical. |
A - Alien, at least with the ghost you cant get them pregnant.
B - I dont pee,so no problem there. C - I believe in both so comprehension of the two is not a struggle. |

I would be most scared of the Alien. Those big eyed buggers freak me out. |
A. Which of both scenarios would scare you the most ?
The ghost would scare me the most, since it'll look so scary. Its looks would suggest (to me) that it'll be hostile towards me. In case of the alien I'd assume it would, at first, be a bit surprised to see me. B. What would you do after pissing your pants ? In case of the ghost, if it's hostile I may run like hell - can't imagine how I'd fight a ghost, let alone one that's pissed. In case of the alien, I'd attempt to communicate with it, starting with universal gestures for friendliness: show open palms, smile. I'd probably try and bow slightly for the alien as well showing submission, though I might instinctively try and stand straight up, arching my head backward a little, indicating a defensive "fight or flight" stance. C. Both situations (asuming your not already a believer) would pretty much prove to you that either there is a life after death, or other intelligent lifeforms outside of this planet. What would be harder for you to comprehend ? Assuming I already believe there's life outside the planet (or at least the possibility of it), I'd have a harder time believing the ghost. |
A. Alien would scare me more, since what is a ghost going to do except go "Boo"
B. With the ghost, I'd rub my eyes and say "WTF!". With the Alien then I'd try to appear at ease and non-confrontational. C.I'd have a much, much harder time believing in the ghost. |

A. I think both would scare me the same. Probably the Alien even moe since it is really there while the ghost could still be in my mind only
B. I'd probably start to run, but i guess in most cases you will just be paralyzed and standing there C. Well, thinking of how many planets there have to be just in this galaxy it is hard to believe that there are not any other intelligent lifeforms somewhere. They are probably either not as far advanced or they just dont care or they just fly another way and will hit us later. The afterlife is unfortunately hard to believe. I'd probably like to be still around but on the other hand when thinking how many people died already the earth would probably be pretty crowded with ghosts. i do like being reborn though somehow |

vs http://www.alcarter.net/mechanicalsp.../03Ghost~1.JPG If either of those appeared, I wouldnt be sticking around to be scared, there'd be a eck shaped shadow on the floor and the faint sound of a girl screaming as I flapped my arms running the hell outa there like the true man that I am. I'd tell my friends / family but in all honesty who is going to beleive you? I personally do not beleive that Ghosts are Soles stuck in "limbo" - and certainly do not think that ghost prove there is an afterlife. For all we know, they "could" be echos of the past in some seroiuily ****ed up timewarp startrek nerd covension on steriods sinerio. However zoombies are alive - they're in my local tescos stacking shelves and serving customers. |
Lord, you guys as some insane questions.
Neither, as the scenario simply won't happen and if it did - no worries, I'd just wake up. |
