Default Looking for a PDA ...
Hey all I'm looking for a PDA for around £150-£225 just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Anyone got one they really like or planning to get one soon and been eyeing some up ?

If your looking for one that has a phone built in then i can 100% reccomend the SPV M600, its the first fully fledged PDA that is small enough to use as a phone too, it has 2MP camera, wifi, bluetooth, and i've just put a 2GB flash card in mine [thumbup] also WM6 should be getting released on it so its kind of futureproof too!

Another vote for the spv phone/pda option, i had an spvm1500 for a while and that was a great pda, just a bit too big for my taste

Ive got two PDAs, an HP H2210 and an HP hx2100.

Im really not that happy with either, but theres nothing actually wrong with them since they work great and do what they are supposed to.
Its just that windows mobile PDAs are just not close enough to normal windows for me to rely on them alone and thats really a big negative for me since nowdays cellphones are really catching up with these things and despite running much more powerful processors on PDAs they really dont have any apps that distance themselves from a high end cellphone.

Recently ive been waiting for this
http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/h...lly-goes-umpc/

Small as a PDA and it runs proper windows, but probably will be out of your listed price range.
What exactly are you planning to do with you PDA ?

Thanks for the advice so far. The Orange one looks a bit small really I want a full keyboard ideally.

Its going to be used for after university when me and my friend get into our business full time. Will need to access PIM information on the move, internet/email, SSH to access servers potentially. Also I have my birthday coming up so seems like the right time to buy one as I probably wont have the money to get myself for a while

Small as a PDA? I wouldn't want to stick a UMPC with a 7 inch screen into my pocket

BlindKensai: Try an HTC Wizard (iirc) based phone, they come with a slide-out keyboard and are quite light and small!

Do you like linux. The Zaurus C3000 is a great little device that has a 4 gig hard drive and full keyboard. I am also selling mine but I live in the states.

This PDA is pretty much the fastest I have seen as far a emulation is concerned. SNES runs at full speed.

I thought of getting a Zaurus once would be cool. I had a Toshiba E800 for a while but those little things give me a headache.

Well ive been hearing its going to be closer to the 1000US mark.

Small as a PDA? I wouldn't want to stick a UMPC with a 7 inch screen into my pocket thats 7" diagonal, anyway i dont see carrying this around being a big deal compared to a PDA. I dont carry my Ipaqs in my pocket anyway they are still far bigger than cellphones.
Plus having windows vista and a proper USB port more than makes up for the extra size of the HTC Shift.

Just ordered an import Zaurus SL-C3200 with wireless card for £325 inc fees and shipping

So much for the budget ... I just really couldn't say no to it but I think it will be worth it in the end!

It may have been out of budget but its also the best PDA there is. Let me know if you need anything as I have messed with all available OS's and kernals plus most of the emulation software. Also you will really want to get involved in this forum

How is it? Isn't the CPU still a bit too slow? Getting my 2020i (HTC Alpine) within a few days back, but the size of that thing really is a handicap!

They are still very slow and peronally I think the OMAP processor is pure crap. I have my tmobile dash at 260 and it can barely emulate anything full speed(nes works great though). I also think windows mobile is cluncky. The kernal is a lot slower than that of a linux kernal. The 416MHZ xscale performs a lot better on the zaurus than a windows mobile PDA just due to the OS itself.

Yeah, I know that the OS slows it down, was just wondering how those 203 mhz chips perform in comparison to other Windows Mobile setups. My Alpine's going to have a 520 mhz Xscale chip, so I am not all that worried [thumbup]

The OQO 2 might just be small enough to be PDA like with it's 5 inch screen. The thing can pack up to 1.5Ghz and can work on EVDO networks.
