Default Need a good HDD-MP3 player that just plays music
I've finally got sick of my Creative Zen Touch crashing and going wrong in every way possible, so need a new MP3 player. However I'm not interested in playing games or watching videos- I'd much rather keep the cost down and battery life up. Any reccomendations?

Seriously avoid anything Packard Bell. I know they're cheap, but they're shite. Yes, I bought one
I did love my old Zen 20Gb though. Awesome sound.

I think it is called M5 (an X5 but only for music, cheaper) but if you really want a killer battery life, you must choose flash based player.

Well the only recent music-only MP3 player I could find was this, but I've read a lot of bad things about the software (plus I'm not digging the purple). So ended up buying a new 30Gb Creative Zen Vision: M of eBay for £120, not a bad deal methinks I'm sure the video will come in useful at some point, and it gets even better reviews than the Video iPod.

I had a look a that, but the availability is somewhat limited in UK stores and where you can buy they are fricking expensive

Most of the HDD players (if not all) can play videos nowadays ...

Anyway as for a brand: Iriver is deffinately my favorite [thumbup] Innovative products and awesome buildquality. Soundquality can't be beaten either

EDIT: well it appears this one doesn't

I bought a 1st Gen ipod shuffle. 512 MB but its perfect for my lifestyle.
enough music for quick commute, jogging. and can be used as memory stick.
I keep forgetting where I put the bugger from time to time though
for 30CAD$ it was a bargain too.
battery life is pretty good too.
