ok i sent a friend some cds with rared files and i also added a password to the rar file which consists of one 'ü'

now she cant open this damn file.. she already tried unrarX and MacUnRar and it always tells her the password is incorrect.. i just sent her another rar with a simple test password and it worked.. is there any solution for this problem ??
macs should also know the letter ü, or whats the damn problem ? ^^

please help

You one hundred % certain she is typing it in correctly?

I'd just send her the password and make her copy and paste it in.

yeah of course.. we tried it for 2 ***ing hours now ~~

as i said i sent her another rar with the passwort 'blub' and it worked for her.. but the password with the 'ü' in it just doesnt seem to work on mac

and as we already tried 3 different programs i dunno what else she could try ~~

Did you try stuffit?

http://www.stuffit.com/downloads/std-downloadv.html

Download the German one and it's sure to have the umlaut in there.

we tried stuffit unRarX and SimplyRAR
i guess its just a problem with mac somehow.. noone else ever had that problem ?

i really need a solution for this because she lives 150miles away from me and i dont want to send another 3 cds ~~

hope somebody else got an idea
