If you're in the area you'd better be off down the shops to buy a Freeview receiver or you won't have any TV come October! |

Well, I for one can't wair for them to switch off the analogue systems in my area. It would mean that the freeview transmissions would then be able to run at full power. I understand that the freeview transmissions are deliberately kept on low power because they fear that it would interfere with analogue transmissions if they increased it.
My parents Freeview reception is barely watchable at the moment because it's so easily swamped by the "countdown" system on the buses that go past their place which causes the freeview box to either freeze for a few seconds or the picture will break up. What's worse is that their analogue signal is very poor too. I know that my Dad is eagerly waiting the switch off of analogue, so he can get a stronger freeview signal. |

About time really, although being in London im going to have to wait till 2012, which s a pain as we could do with the extra power. Freeview HD is truely something, and the sooner it gets here, the better!
I was reading that a moment ago, and about the battle with ofcom over space for HD over freeview. I hope when the switchover is all done, they at least have enough room to offer BBC / ITV / CH4 in HD, I don't want a reason to give SKY more money. [no] ![]() Hopefully with the analogue switchoff more power and space can be diverted to freeview signals which could mean HD for all! |
