Default OMG!!! You know just how low this world has sunk when...
...it's not just people like commercial *****s ITV ripping you off with their fraudulent premium rate competitions. Now BLUE PETER that last bastion of all that is British is ripping off our kids and faking the winner in a competition for charity.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6449919.stm

I reckon it's time they pulled the plug on Blue Peter just like they did with ITV Play.

although the way that it has been reported sounds bad all it was was a cover up of some technical issues. it could have been dealt with differently but its not in the same league as the other phone in scandals.

They didn't do it intentionally to make a profit or benefit themselves, they did it to benefit the viewers and not to disappoint all the children who phoned in by saying "sorry, the competition is cancelled!".

Blue Peter is a popular kids' TV show that's been running for nearly 50 years! It's a British Institution!

I can sum up Britishness easilly with this conversation I heard while having my eyes tested today:

Optician: "Right, that's going to be £75 for the lenses and £55 for the Frames, that's £130 total"

Woman: "Nah, I want it for free, I'm on low income support!"

Yeah, Blue Peter always meant the good programmes were over and it was time to go outside

Yeah ignore these posers! They loved it too you just out grow it that's all. It seems kind of cool when you are 8 by the time you hit puberty it is terribly childish a bit like the Magic Kingdom at Disneyworld.

Oh come on you can say that, try to whitewash the whole thing but I have no doubt that each of the following stories was caused by disillusioned primary school kids who's dreams have been permanently dashed upon the rocky shard of 'Blue Peter'

Stocks plunge in Global Sell off
Avengers Gareth Hunt dies
oh yeah and of course...
MPs clash with police in Ecuador

And I'm sure they have something to do with the current Sub Prime turmoil in the States

Pretty sick to fake such a result.

They should have been honest, dissapointed kids maybe, but even though their little.. they will understand honesty more than lying and faking a outcome.

No way. I could never relate to those preened ultra middle class boring kids and even worse presenters. And I came from a very M/C background too, just they were something else. Kinda grateful though, I did always go out when it came on

Geez you were a bit of over sensitive kid I didn't even have the slightest understanding of the class system at that age. A right 'working class hero' hey?

No not at all. Like I said, very M/C myself but I always knew there was something wrong with them and they bored me. Now, I have the vocabulary to describe what I was feeling
