Well it is more the fact that I held myself back by staying in retail for too long. Now I have changed job I am in my element. So its my own fault for not making the switch earlier in life.

Default WOOT! I got delegation!
Well I am over the moon today, i did my target for the month on saturday. Branch was really really behind, to the tune of about 500 policies. This mean that I would get my bonus cut in half. But we all pulled together and I had an amazing month, I was doing other peoples policies as well, and got on like an average of 20 a day. [thumbup] I was also geeing up everyone else to get theirs as well.

To cut a long story short, delegation means I can set my own rates within a certain criteria for premiums. So basically if I think it fits, and the risk is ok I can do a rate "on the fly" meaning I do not have to refer to my in house underwriter. This is essential as it keeps me on the phone and allows me to sell there and then.

Today I got told by my supervisor that he had asked for me to get delegation. I was so happy, means I can get more policies on. It also gives me another string in the bow, and sets me on the path to becoming an underwriter myself.

Also people were really singing my praises all month on how well I have done. Best bit is I am just due for a pay rise. Having delegation means I get more money as well! Also others were saying I should be the manager of renewals section, again another pay rise. So potentially I could get a promotion to boot! Our bonus are also set to be increased as well, which even more money lol! To be realistic, I think I have a very good chance of becoming a supervisor, rather than manager but it is still the next step.

This really is the best job I have had, so very happy. Lol people were saying I should be employee of the month [rofl] We dont even do that here haha! I really feel I am on my way to getting up the ladder. At 30 I guess I am what you call a later bloomer, but it is never too late. I just so wish I had made my career change earlier in life, still look to the future is the way I see it.

Anyone else do insurance underwriting, or sales for the matter?

As to my sig, I would LOVE a new one. So be my guest and please make me a new one

Hey, that's great stuff. It's very cool when someone enjoys their job, and gets recognition for doing it well [thumbup]
