I hate shaving.
I just can't shave without tearing my neck up. The hairs on my neck just won't stand up straight, so I have to go over then dozens of times until I get them. This causes bleeding, irritation and redness.
I've tried three different electric razors and dozens of safety razors, gels, lotions, etc. Nothing works. Shaving with lotion isn't much better than shaving dry. I use an electric right now, and while it gives me a smooth shave, I have massive razor burn to deal with. I'd grow a beard but my facial hair isn't dense enough. Surely there's something I can do? And no, a cutthroat isn't an option. I'm too lazy to keep it sharp. I've been doing this for seven years now and it hasn't become any better... if anything it's worse now. |
Get them hairs lasered.
Or use a depilatory cream like women use on their legs. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif |
Lol I don't hate it *that* much.

I had the exact same problem mate.... and you know what I found works... try shaving just after a shower, when the skin still hold a bit of moisture... that was the skin won't dry up, flake and bleed.
But you can also try using a face wash/scrub before shaving too... this will add moisture. Afterwards, apply a balm as you have been doing... and remember to stick to a regular routine, as in always shave when it is roughtly the same length so your skin will get used to it. Let us know how it goes. |
My neck hairs are SOBs, super thick....
What has worked best is a Panasonic Linear motor electric. Not quite perfect but the only thing that cuts close enough, but doesn't irritate. Mostly though I have reverted to a short trim...ala Don Johnson, miami vice... |

i can empathise... while i have no trouble with razor burn i have terrible troubles with ingrown hairs as my hair has a slight wave to it. i shave maybe once a week and never against the grain as that is just asking for trouble!!
was worse last year when i worked as a waiter and had to shave at least every other day or have my knackers viced by the supervisors. every so often i will notice a dark spot on my face and have to operate for 20+ mins to remove the hair that is inevitably underneath. a couple of months ago i got a 2cm hair that was curled up like a pigs tail outta my cheek!! |
same here man, I cant shave without getting my skin red, and bleeding....stupid hairs...:(

Pay a little more but there's nothing like using a Brand New Fusion Blade... such a nice close shave. Wish the blades lasted a little longer though. |

I hate shaving so much that I want to get hair removal on my face. It lasts 5 years for a 1000 bucks? Not that bad.
