"In a mathematical model for the variance of the air pressure determined by the altitude over the sea surface, the following is true:
d p ___ = - a * p d x where p = pressure, x = altitude. When p is given as mmHg and x in meters, a has the value 1,19*10^-4 One day, the pressure is 675 mmHg at an altitude of 990 metres. From this, find the function for the approximating 1st degree polynomial ofor p in the number 990. Using this, find an approximation of the pressure at 1000 metres that day" Makes no sense do me. Probably because we never really used leibniz notation. But is it possible that the p in - a * p could refer to a variable instead of a function? I hate ambiguous naming. |
