Certainly sounds good, but i'm sure a normal Corvette wouldn't sound like that.

Sexy beast. I generally dislike American cars, but Corvettes are such a great value.

Might be cheaper to fit it in a sweet Aussie designed car... Europian stuff is just so damn expensive here.

Example...

Holden WM caprice, pure luxury 6.0L V8 (pretty much the current vette engine) very nice all the funky gadgets that you'd get in a more expensive eurpoian car. Think this is onlt $65,000 AU. Bargin!

If you think that's a Vectra then you're on crack.

typically you won't say WM... Just Caprice. This baby was designed and made by GM Holden, not Vauxhal.

By the sounds of that the engine has complete work through and is set up for maybe 8-9 grand? My buddys 302 thats tuned for 9 grand idles like that. Just means they guy as alot of money in that motor and probably 800-1000 bhp. Alot of people think their big block chevy is fast and sexy beause of how it idles. However if you want real power, your car will idle just like that.

Yeah, but expect to pay what? twice as much is it?

Plus American V8's are fairly cheap to modify and get some serious numbers crunching. There are a lot of other sweet American cars that have an LT or LS series motor too.

That sounded whicked, though to get that sorta idle noise it has got to be pushing huge numbers.
BTW, did the car strap catch on fire? Looked like it to me.

I love this right here. A L28 (2.8L) into a 3.2L triple carb setup. Other modified L series motors sound like this and it sorta supprises me that they sound like strong V8's.
I hope to do this someday to my Datusn, but because I only have the L24 (2.4L) and I only expecting a maximum of 2.7L atm without boring.

Best noise that I have ever heard come from a Japanese car. [thumbup]

if it was twice as much, i would rob a bank tomorrow and get one.

expect 400k USD for a used one, I'm not talking a 911 Carrera, I mean a Carrera GT V10 goodness http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...rrera+GT&hl=en
but yes, you can get much easier access to corvette music at a much more reasonable price, but whats a few hundred grand?

Pretty nice car. That is freakin nuts on the price. How are these things so pricey compared to lets say American rigs like the SRT10, C06, Shelby GT, GT? For that price I would like to get the McClaren. Top Gear made me fall in love with that thing.
Would I be nuts though if I had rather buy a Dodge Viper SRT10 over that car (Porsche)?

Not nuts at all, an oil change for that car is like $800, because of all the carbon fiber under body panels, and all the special screws that need to be torgued down just right, its a lengthy process. it has a really touchy clutch that has never been used in a production car amongst all sorts of other unique things, but thats why the price tag comes with it, and they dont make them anymore, limited run, cant remember the number but less than 1500. a Viper can push the 100k mark, and i think thats close to a new Z06.

but boy, if money wasnt an issue, i'de be like this guy (the owner of these vehicles frequents rennlist, a porsche enthusiast site, and thats where i read all this stuff)

I thought that the new Z06s were like 70k? Though I wouldnt be surprised at all if dealers are selling them well over the actaul retail price.
