I've got an amplifier but my head unit does not have any aux out. My friend said that before giving signal to the amplifier, I need to drop the impedance from the output of my head unit.I searched the net about lowering impedance but could not find any diagram because I really do not know what to search and what the device is called. Anyone know what the device is called?

What brand/model amp'? Some will work fine directly from the output but by no means all.
Have you considered trading in on a head unit with a pre' out?
