Default Ebay problem :(
I bought an active sub from ebay on the 11th, due to it being a car sub I had to wait a few days before being able to install it because I had no time with uni work etc.

So when I did get time I installed it......didnt work

Tried it in a few mates cars......doesn't work

So the thing is faulty, I email the ebay shop/seller people I bought it from and they say take out the amp from the thing, cut the wires and send us it and we'll send you out a new amp. So I think, thats not very good but I have a look at the amp anyway........The wires are SOLDERED on...

So if I done what they say I'd have to cut the wires then somehow reattatch them when the new amp arrives, I wrote back to them saying Im not comfortable with this can i get a refund and they simply said "no".

So I dont know what to do now, the thing cost me £60, I can probably sell the sub seperate without the amp for £30, but it's principle here that they sold me something that doesnt work and are refusing to reimburse me.
I was wanting to get it either refunded or get it replaced with a new one then sell the new one, but I dont feel comfortable selling one that Ive replaced the amp on.

Oh yeah, I have to pay for the shipping back to them...

So Ive emailed Ebay, is there anything else I can do?

edit: If I went ahead and sold the sub seperate I'm going to leave them negative feedback, but then theyll probably leave me negative feedback when Ive done nothing wrong and ruin my 100% rating, is there anyway I can stop this?

Keep all messages from the seller and forward them to eBay, also, if you paid by paypal try contacting them, as for return or refund it depends on what the return/refund policy they show is but getting you to chop about a faulty item seems a bit dodgy to me and they should replace it but unfortunately you are liable for return postage if you decide to return the amp.

the best option would be paypal if you paid using them, I know some people have trouble but I've had a few issues and paypal have got my money back every time. as for bad feedback it's a shame that they can leave you feedback but if ebay do rule in your favor they can remove any bad feedback left by the seller.

Do as ACE says. File a complaint, get your cash back and have the expected retalliation neg removed.
I've had timewasters neg me and the bad feedback removed.

Ive emailed both paypal and ebay, hopefully they will get back to me soon, how long does it take them roughly?

Don't know about ebay but if you file a complaint with paypal it will be sent to the seller who then has a week to respond, if no response is received then the complaint is held in your favor and a refund is issued, if the seller responds you then have a week to respond to the sellers response, if you don't respond then it's held in his favor and it's all over.

keep checking paypal, somewhere (it's been a while) it'll say open issues or open complaints or something and you need to check to see if the seller has responded to your complaint

Edit: Just checked paypal and in the acount overview under action it should give you an idea as to what is happening with the complaint, eg waiting for response from seller/buyer

You still have to return the sub if you want refund..even paypal sometimes will ask you to do that to issue full refund..or the seller might offer you partial refund without returning the sub.

You will have to wait 10 days till the seller respond, if he responds during these 10 days with a good solution then you should accpet it and close the case..unless than that after 10 days if they didnt respond paypal will issue a full refund..BUT they MIGHT ask you to return the sub to get the refund .even they say that in their resolution center

The thing is the seller will say they offered me a replacement amp, but that involves taking the whole thing apart and cutting wires and stuff, Im not comfortable with reselling something Ive tampered with like that

Well then you say that, and then let paypal decide.
