Default If you are the kind of guy that doesn't like....
Okay... If you are the kind of guy that doesn't really see the point of celbrating your birthday much Or getting lots of gifts and whatnot.... Would you be upset with your girlfriend for inviting your closest friends over as a birthday surprise and getting you a present and alcohol? Or would you enjoy hanging out with everyone and appreciate it?

Even if you hate all that, if a friend took the time to organize a party, you should accept it and enjoy, even if you don't, you should try.

If you just tell everybody to piss off and say "I dont like what we're doing," you are an *******.

I take off for my birthday every year. I may not have big parties or anything but I do celebrate it.

Well.. to clear things up and be completely honest.... It's not that I think Dominick will be mad at all... I'm actually sure he will try to enjoy himself and he does like hanging out with his friends... I just hope he doesn't tell me I shouldn't have wasted my efforts in organizing this.

By the way he is 22 today (it is 3am) and I will be 21 in December.

I'd probably finish my girlfriend if she did something like that, then I think i'd gouge out her eyes with broken glass and murder her.

I'm now in the phase that if I want to do anything for my birthday it would be dinner with a friend or a day up in Vegas and then a show in the evening. I probably would say I'm not having a party and I don't want anyone to throw a party if friends ask about a party on my birthday but when it comes down to it I know I would be fine (and actually enjoy) if one of my real close friends ignored that altogether, again though, I would hope it was more of a dinner with just them or a very small group or a day in Vegas or something.

Wait, I would be pissed if someone surprised me with a cake on my birthday; it either has to be pie, or an ice cream cake. None of that normal birthday cake crap.

I'm that kind of person, never celebrated my birthday in a long time (a decade I think). At the most it'll be a small dinner (with two other friends) over the weekend. On the other hand, if it was a surprise party, I'll go along with the flow and then tell them to not bother again next year.

As long as he doesn't already have something planned, he probobly wouldn't mind just his best buddy and his girl hanging out with him. Then again, he might be hoping to hang out with JUST his girl... if you get my meaning.

I can't think of any guy that would be mad at a few friends, some small gifts, and some alcohol showing up for his birthday. I know people like you describe, e.g. really low key, almost depressed, when it comes to their birthdays, but trust me this guy you're talking about won't be mad in fact I think he'll be pleased.

Hey Ditto,

I'm not a big fan of birthdays and celebrating in any big manner and my just passed 22nd was going to be a night infront of the TV until my best friend arranged an awesome night in our local pub, loads of friends and many drinks later I'm glad he did!

I haven't read the entire thread but I'm assuming you're referring to the other half, and if so, I think he'd like having a few good friends, his GF and a drink!

As long as you're sure they are his friends and not yours. Nothing would piss me off more than being forced to hang around everyone I pretend to be nice to for the sake of getting laid.
