Default How to make old dos games run better?
I got bored and found the game that started me on the computer, this game was Strife. Is there a way that I can make the game playable? It is too jerky as it is.

Strife is ace, have you tried DOSBox yet?

EDIT: BTW, I haven't tried DOSBox on that as I tried Strife on a Duron 600@900 machine but it was too fast, I couldn't open doors so I switched it to my oldtimer, a Pentium Pro 200 running Win98SE. A great game indeed. [thumbup]

I know, I love this game. Few people know of it though.

there is dosbox if you have a strong cpu as you usually need to ramp up the cycles for it to play a decent speed

i found some games ran better just using VDMsound - such as blood
