Currently have a still very nice Samsung 17" SyncMaster LCD, lovely screen but wanted bigger and wide, plus I wanted the monitor to have HDCP, damn Vista [rolleyes]
Went to Comet in Swansea (uk) and seen this very nice 21" Widescreen LCD, and for only £299 ![]() http://www.gateway.com/home/products...fpd2185w.shtml Bought it at the store at 7:55pm, store closes at 8pm, so exited to play with it, rushed home, took it out of the box and it has a VGA cable, thats fine until I get a DVI one, USB 2.0 cable but only a 3 pin European plug, no UK 3 pin plug was inlcuded so I couldn't use it [cursing] [cursing] [cursing] Have to go to the bloody store now after work and demand a UK power lead, no way in hell am I paying for it [thumbdown] Feel better after after that rant [thumbup] |

That sucks, but grats' on the new wide screen!
I too recently went wide via the Samsung Syncmaster 225BW and I must say, even coming from a 19" lcd, it's an awesome upgrade! The sleek black look and ease of physical adjustment(pivot and swivle) are top notch and the spec's are not shabby too.. Platform: Mac / PC Display Type: Active Matrix LCD (TFT) Viewable Size: 22.0 in Display Resolution:1680 x 1050 Response Time: 5 ms Horizontal Viewing Angle (Degrees): 160 Vertical Viewing Angle (Degrees): 160 Port Connectors:
Contrast Ratio: 700 :1 Video Interface Type: Analog / Digital Regulatory Compliances:
Width: 19.9 in Depth: 8.7 in Weight: 15.2 lbs I am finding a new life to my PC gaming, one that went stale a while ago, all due to this brilliant lcd and it's sheer entrancement. Oh yeah, it was only $399 american as well. Came with dvi and analog connectors also! ![]() |
