Bizarre. Most of the cams seem to be pointed where no one is at though lol.

It says on the FAQ page that some of the cams can be controlled if you click on that camera and open the interface, but I couldn't figure out how that works (none of the ones I clicked on probably had that feature).

Reminds me of the tv show "Person of Interest" lol. Wonder if that was this guy's inspiration for making the search software/website...

Hi, this is Adrian (creator of the Webcam page). Saw this thread pop up in a Google alert so I thought I'd register and reply to a few things. I tried to create an account last night (Cryptogasm) but for some reason I didn't get the email...probably some misconfiguration in my mailserver, but I thought I'd mention it in case someone thinks I'm trying to create dupe accounts.

It says on the FAQ page that some of the cams can be controlled if you click on that camera and open the interface, but I couldn't figure out how that works (none of the ones I clicked on probably had that feature).
Clicking on a camera will open the camera feed (i.e. just the image) in a separate tab. In order to get to the control interface, you have to alter the URL. Usually if you take off everything after the domain/IP you'll get something that links you to the control. For instance, the control interface for this cam: http://65.216.18.180/nphMotionJpeg?R...uality=Clarity can be found by going here: http://65.216.18.180/ and then just clicking on the first "Multi-Camera" link, and then the webcam image. That should work for all Panasonic cams.

Reminds me of the tv show "Person of Interest" lol. Wonder if that was this guy's inspiration for making the search software/website...
Don't believe I've ever seen that show, so no. My inspiration for finding them came from watching a few videos that mentioned various feeds which were available through search engines. I then decided to try and find as many as I could. The problem was, most of the results I got were dead, and I wanted a quick way of visually seeing whether the feed was up, and what it was looking at.

So I made the interface at first just so I could page through all the webcams quickly and eliminate the ones which were either dead or pointing at kids in bed (and there were a fair few of those). Of course, I started showing what I'd done to some friends and colleagues, and they thought it was really cool. So I spent a few days improving it, migrating it across to a database, etc. Then I released it on reddit and the suddenly thousands of people are visiting it.

Anyway, I'm happy to answer questions if people have them. Otherwise, thanks for discussing the viewer.
