Just to recap the call I just had, since it emphasizes the point I often make about how people are idiots..
*Phone rings* Me: "Hi, *** Computers can I help you?" Customer (mans voice): "I think it's my wife you want...." Me: "OK...?" *rustling and rattling* Customer (womans voice): "Hello?" Me: "Hello, what can I do for you?" Customer: "Who are you?" Me: "James at *** Computers, what can I do for you?" Customer: "Why are you ringing me?" Me: "I didn't, you rang me?" Customer: "We're not interested, bye!" What the hell just happened? |

The day after this happened:
A lady came in with a PC that was in yesterday. At the time the only fault was a lack of sound, I reloaded her sound driver and all was well. Simple fix. Apparently on taking the PC home her printer didn't work. She had brought the PC but no printer, I got her to bring the printer in so I could test them together. Whilst I was hooking it all up I was being told how "we should check these things before we give PC's back" and "Obviously whatever you did broke my printer." Long story short, the printer was out of ink on 2 of the 4 cartridges. Her comment was: "Well it had ink before you fixed our PC!" /facepalm |

This thread reminds me of the stupid f*ck lady that put her $3000 Dell XPS laptop in the dishwasher because the screen was dirty and could not understand why it did not power on afterwards. When I asked her what possessed her into do it she said with a very straight face "There was no warning sticker on it that says I could not"; some people need to go live in a cave and never touch technology.

This CAN NOT have happened. People arent this stupid! Or arrived at a place of business where the customer called to say their pc was completely dead and wont power on, to sit down in the unlit corner, proceed to switch the desktop light on only to no avail. upon tracing its power cable you come to find it is plugged into a 4 port ac extension lead that has 3 other devices plugged in and is switched off at a single power point (socket) on the wall. after switching on the socket, only to hear, jeez was wondering why it was a little bit dark in here. suffice to say the pc and monitor had no problem switching on when the socket was switched on at the wall I am sincere and these were events that have actually happened. and unfortunately many more for example an individual finding it difficult with comprehending simple percentages and an adequate defence was that "oh i dont know anything about computers". In context this particular individual couldnt grasp (after having explained it twice) how they were not getting the rated amount of pages from the manufacturers stated coverage of 5% ink per page when they were printing off full colour pages (which on average i'd say was at least 85% coverage). |

I wouldn't go 3 hours without checking my guys work let alone 3 shifts! And if you´re try to say i should have noticed the problem, then my friend you have no idea what i do, nor what my function is, to make it a little clearer, although over exaggerated, what you´re trying to say is if your Burgerking burger had pickles on it, although you ordered without John Chidsay ****ed up. |

There was so much fail in the whole situation it isn´t even funny. From the assemblers to the adjuster up to the visual quality controller everyone failed. |

I actually found the discussion rather entertaining, hehe.
OT: A customer dropped by the store a week ago complaining that his usb flash driver does not work because the laptop is broke. At closer inspection it turns out he had shoved the flash drive into the ethernet port. ![]() Some time ago a customer complained that his wireless mouse didnt work. It did work for a week or so and then it started blinking red and then stopped working. In this case it turned out the mouse had run oot of battery. He thought that the mouse could recharge wirelessly as long as it was close to the receiver. I picked up the mouse and placed it in the docking station, while he was standing there perplexed by this magical contraption... and then started laughing. ![]() |
