Default Scientists recreate Shackleton's Highland malt whisky
http://www.scientificsocieties.org/j...-0630-1168.pdf

This gets my vote for the most important scientific paper published this year. Hands down!

A bottle can be yours for only $125!

Don't know how anyone can enjoy Whisky, I nearly always end up retching after a quick swig, i'm sticking to my J2O and Decaff Coffee.

[offtopic]OMG! I just noticed this on Google by pure chance.

Well there's your first problem right there. Whiskey is not intended for a "quick swig."

Blended Speyside at that price? No thank you. I'll stick with Islay.

But it burns the hell out of my throat too, even with a "Slow swig".[surrender]

Maybe i'm not made to drink the hard stuff.

Wow, that's interesting. Thanks for posting it.

Love Laphroaig! I have 8-10 types of whisky on hand at any given time, but I always go back to Laphroaig, Oban and Aberlour. I had a nice bottle of Glenmorangie 18 Extra Rare, but it's empty now.
