Default Looking at getting a tablet.
What tablet would you suggest getting. There are so many to choose from. I want something 7-10inch 200-500 dollar range.

It really depends what you want to do. The Transformer for example has a weak GPU thats slower then some phones but it has a nice CPU so not the best for games. The Amazon one is good for books.

Yeah, Tegra 3 is terrible.../sarcasm

Granted it's only just slightly better than iPad2, it's hardly weak

Yes it is weak in the areas I said. Who cares about right mark? In the GPU benchmarks the Transformer is weak coming out slower than an IPhone 4s. It’s the GPU that matters as in ICS it’s the GPU that renders the UI, web browser, flash, movies, and games.

EDIT: http://www.inspiredgeek.com/wp-conte...11/image26.png
Tegra 3 is a next gen chip giving last gen GPU performance.
EDIT2: With Tegra doing that poorly against last gen how is it going to do against next gen in the following months? Tegra 3 GPU wise looks to be the slowest of the 2012 chips by a long shot.

Every gpu integrated in Tegra SOC's has been slow.

In the case of the Tegra 3, I think we should wait until devices are upgraded to ICS as it should make should a big difference on cpu performance.

The gpu is weak though.

If ICS runs like a dream on the Galaxy Nexus which has a weaker gpu then it should be a problem on any Tegra 3 device.

I'd seriously consider looking at the iPad 2. It still can't be beaten for apps.

iPads are over rated. I got one for some music editing app's....but....

Most app's cost a fortune for what they actually are, iTunes is essentially the love child of Aids and Cancer, it basically doesn't like talking to anything in a PC enviroment. Since iOS5 I have more app's force close than in Windows ME. Don't listen to all the b*llocks about better App's, quite frankly its coming out their *sses

Majority of the games are utter w*nk, that Infinite Blade really is a waste of money and doesn't deserve the credit it gets.

After a few months of owning one, I soon came to realise that anyone who buys a iPad has no self respect. I can't wait till after xmas as I'm going to sell mine and replace it with a less inferior product.

Do yourself a favour, follow everyone else's advice and get a prime. [cursing][thumbup]

Prime or the Sony Tablet S (love mine!). iPad's are currently plagued with iOS5 crashing issues (cue people's "I don't have that issue"....I'm glad you don't, but its a big issue which Apple are working on). Also if you must get an iPad (I really wouldn't recommend it), the iPad 3's are due to be released in a few months.

Recommendations:
Today: iPad 2
Tomorrow: Asus Transformer Prime/iPad 2
Future: iPad 3 or future Exynos powered offerings from Samsung

Compute performance is expected to double over their 1.5 GHz Cortex-A9 based Exynos processors, and memory bandwidth is quoted as 12.8 GB/s, a huge jump over their prior bandwidth. Unfortunately the release didn't clarify the origin of the bandwidth leap. It also didn't discuss the on package GPU. Graphics performance will reportedly quadruple over their earlier Exynos models, which could eclipse the current graphics king, Apple's A5 SoC. If you can wait for the iPad 3 or a competing next gen tablet, I would.

Yeah, any of these mobile games have no real depth and features that fully fledged games have, developers are just jumping on the bandwagon because it's fast cash.

The one I play the most is Angry Birds but in the end it's nothing but a time waster when you're in a bank queue or taking a crap.
