So iv got the camera bug...
The last year me and the wife have really got into mountain biking and I’m now looking for a decent camera that can take those "action shots". I don’t really want to spend too much (£200-£250), but it would be good if the camera could also do HD video and if possible waterproof and shock resistant as part of the time it’s going to be in my pocket as I’m flying down mountains ect. My current digital camera is total crap, all the pictures iv taken so far of moving images have ended up blurry, iv tried various different camera settings and in different amounts of light and haven’t achieved a decent shot yet! Any recommendations? |

I'm not sure if this would meet your requirement for durability, but it has pretty good reviews and I think it will fit your budget. It even has autofocus in video mode.

I also recommend the HX9V (I own it), it's a very nice camera and the video quality is amazing for a compact, 1080p at 50p/60p.
Sample videos here, originals on the PC look better due to playing at 50fps http://www.youtube.com/user/Radeon12345?feature=mhsn Sample pics https://picasaweb.google.com/1154795...ll16thNov2011# |

I also have a HX9V, and it's excellent. Worth spending a few extra quid if you have to. Sony might be doing some kind of cash-back offer at the moment too which might be worth checking.
If you really have to spend less, the Panasonic Lumix TZ camera's are good. One of those must be available for £200 or less. |
