What's the problem here? Seems to me this was just effective multitasking, violating both the girlfriend and the honor code simultaneously.

Interesting honor code BTW...

Coffee and tea outlawed, but apparently a nice Pepsi is fine.
Beards are not allowed, but moustaches are.

I've got to wonder:
How did the university find out about this?
Is the girlfriend a student, and if so, was she punished?
What do they do to fornicators who are not on athletic scholarships?

And by the way, confirmed drug usage will get you kicked from any NCAA program. BYU is not unique in that regard. There's a number of rules that these players have to follow. BYU has a few more but any player would know in advance what he's getting into and it's part of his faith.

It's a religious school, so having an honor code is pretty much expected. Lots of them do.
It's just that very few of them will actually kick a star player off the team.

I dunno man... if I had to guess, at least 25% of the non-married population of BYU students are getting laid on a semi-regular basis, probably more for the athletes...

Man they're religious Mormons. Don't sleep on the self-discipline of the religious. BYU is filled with Tim Tebows.

Um, I'm not usually one to brag, but I banged a Mormon chick when I was 18, and turned down two others at the same age. College-aged kids are good to go, no matter the religion.
