You should mention the smilies, which can be the toughest part of the posts to decipher:

- Your argument is very well constructed and has overcome my ability to exploit flaws in it.

- You seem very well educated and I have many questions in areas of your expertise that I hope you will enlighten me on.

- Everywhere I look there's more brilliant points you've made that make me slightly green with envy.

- We are certainly best of friends. This is a friendly smile. I mean you no harm and am in no way being pretentious or belittling you.

- We as a community welcome you and throw a party in your honor. It is so good to have new blood joining us here!

- archaic. no longer applicable.

At least this is what I think to myself whenever someone flatters me with using any of the above in response to one of my perfectly reasonable, articulate, humorous, concise, and well-thought-out posts...

The people who choose to make fun of the mental retarded tend to be complete morons and cannot comprehend that these people have feelings and emotions just like anyone else.
I don't think that there is a lack of comprehension about feelings and emotions of others. On the contrary, there is possibly a huge amount of pleasure derived from taking those emotions and stamping on them.
