Default Keith Olbermann indefinitely suspended by MSNBC
pwned

Not sure why it's a big deal though. Are they worried people are going to think he's got a liberal bias? A bit late for that.

Maybe this is a big reason for it:

The donation to Grijalva came on the same day the Democratic incumbent appeared on "Countdown," Politico reported.

While Matthews isn't particularly insightful, I don't think it's reasonable to lump him in with that crew.

I think he was the one that hysterically demanded to know if Michelle bachman was hypnotized as she talked about the Republican win, to which Bachman replied that it must not be sending a tingling sensation up his legs anymore.
I've seen that video. I thought it was awesome.

He kept asking her if she was "in a trance" because she kept giving the same answer to different questions.

I for one am glad MSNBC enforces it's ethics rules like NPR does.

To bad Fox doesn't.

I'm saying they should. That Fox is an overt money raising tool for the Republicans is proof positive that they're not real news journalists. Hell, Fox claimed that their own rules said that if a "journalist" gave money to a candidate then they had to disclose that when they interviewed that but they don't and nothing ever happens to people who break it. Watch this clip:

Olbermann has provided more to the democratic cause with what he says than his paltry, pathetic $2400 ever will.
Wait, he donated to a Republican?

I think it's worth pointing out however that Beck and O'Reilly are not anchors, they are analysts, and do not have any pretext of objectivity.
Not to defend him, as he's a massive douche, but how is that different from Olbermann?

I know Olbermann from ESPN and Football Night in America. I have no idea why he was on those shows.

Okay one thing you have to keep in mind with Olberman vs. O'Reilly is that O'Reilly (or Hannity, for that matter) at least presents other viewpoints on his show and invites guest from the opposition (yes, he does shout them down a lot, but at least they're represented). Olbermann does no such thing. Olbermann has the same crew every day... Maddow, that skinny British guy with the glasses, the black guy, etc.

Olbermann's show is nothing but media liberal elites talking pedantically and condescendingly about politics. That's another knock on Olbermann. He and Maddow go all Kuci-like and try to sound intelligent for no real needed reason. Some of Olbermann's references and metaphors and his long-winded statements make me because they are so unnecessary but he's only doing it to sound smart. O'Reilly is a man of the people and has no reason to try to sound smart.

Although I suppose O'Reilly is a bit smug, too.

I suppose Sarah Palin is a bit retarded.

I suppose Scarlet Johanssen is a bit ****able.

I suppose the Dallas Cowboys are a bit of a mess.

She's not as entirely retarded as O'Donnell, but that is damning faint praise. She makes W look like an intellectual.

Also, how great is it that the Cowboys are a ****ing trainwreck?

She's clever enough to have a pretty decent audience who listen to her unironically. But yes. She makes W look like an intellecual. By the way, George Bush is another person who is not nearly as stupid as he is made out to be.

While I don't watch TV news, this doesn't sound necessarily malicious. They could just be going after the currently-branded "front-runner" as the subject most likely to attract viewer interest.
That, and also I don't think anyone who votes in Republican primaries watches MSNBC.

Why would that bar him from getting the job? As I understand it, Olbermann only got in trouble because he didn't preclear his donations. Was this guy working for NBC when the donations were made (I honestly don't know the names of most of these talking heads)?

I think they're just using it as a reason to get rid of him. It's convenient and it's easy. MSNBC is probably looking to move in a new direction.
A direction that won't result in consistently falling ratings?

He competes directly with Bill O'Reilly and loses miserably. Drix is right, I think.

You're both too stupid for words right now.

Perhaps someone else can explain.
