Default Fedex Cup
Just got some tickets for the Barclays at Ridgewood CC in North Jersey for next Saturday. Giving up a day of golf, but I haven't been up close and personal with the regular tour since the Masters in 2002 (been to a couple Senior events but it's not the same thing).
I still can't believe that a hotbed of golf like Philly doesn't have a tour stop.

I was there on Saturday and it was great to watch the best players in the world once again. The range was quite an experience; it does make me pause and wonder what game I am playing.
What a golf course! Ridgewood CC can stand up with any golf course I have ever seen, with greens complexes very comparable to Winged Foot. They have plenty of room there to hold a Major, if they so chose. I just found out today that I have a good connection that will get me on the course this fall.
I met a couple of the PGA rules officials and spoke with them for about 20 minutes and, lo and behold, one of them (Slugger White) was the guy who made the ruling for Sergio in the playoff on Sunday.

We have had quite a few majors over the years, but the closest thing we have to a tour stop is Jim Furyk's Excellon Invitational - a four man tourney w/ a bunch of ancillary events surrounding it. There was a Pennsylvania Open for awhile that alternated between the Philly and Pittsburgh area. It is surprising that we cannot support a regualr stop.
