Default Aimpoint
Sorry if this has been posted before. I did a search and didn't get any returns.

Just curious if anyone has done an Aimpoint class and if so, what you thought? Been thinking of doing one.

It does look pretty interesting. I am going to contact the instructor and get some more info. I will be sure to post a review if I end up taking the course.

Seems very scientific and thorough. Thats right up my alley. And the list of Pro's who use this system is pretty solid and large.

BTW I like the chart that shows how much a putt is worth. It shows how much more the tour pros would make if they just made 1 more putt per event. Sergio Garcia and Vijay noth would have made 7 Million more in the last 5 years if they just putted a little better.

I read about this in Golf Digest and was pretty interested. Don't think I'll do it, but if you do, let us know how it goes.

I just ran across this web site myself. I do not see any feedback; has anyone investigated further than reviewing the web information? It looks interesting.

Whoa! I just saw a footnote that one instructor charges $250 per hour. I would have to win a lot of matches at $5 each to recover that "investment".

I would like to try this at some point... but to spend that kind of $$...
I don't see why they don't release a DVD for $50 and sell it to the masses... isn't that what everyone else does?

There is a very famous putting guru that is very close to me that teaches this. David Orr at Campbell University. It's pretty expensive for a 1/2 day class but I've been thinking I should just plop the money down and get er done.

My instructor is interested in becoming certified in AimPoint green reading. He's already talked to me a little about it. Anyone had lessons with it yet? He's already talked to me a bit about the "zero line" and how this works.

Kelly I'm very interested in this. There's a girl in Naples who teaches it and I'm oh so close to taking a lesson from her. Share anything you pick up about it please.

Had a lesson today and my instructor told me Aimpoint (including a lady from Naples who is certified to teach it) came to his course yesterday. He demonstrated a little of how it works. He wants to become certified. He was very much sold on the system but it seems complicated to me. He said it's not as hard as it seems although he agreed that it looks intimidating at first. Interesting to say the least.

I never knew they were based out of Waldorf. That's a great place.

I took a clinic on it a recently and I think it will be pretty easy to use. Pretty common sense application of the affects of gravity. The hardest part is just trying to find the zero line, but I think it just takes a little practice. I have not had a chance to use it on the course yet, but hope use it some over the Christmas break. Of course, if you cannot hit it where you aim it at the right speed all bets are off.

I agree about it being a little tricky to find the zero line. We were walking around trying to feel the green with our feet. He's taught me about the zero line before but I always feel so rushed when I'm playing that I wonder how I would fit all that into a round with people who play really fast.

I played a round of golf with a friend of mine that is the AimPoint instructor in our area and I learned a lot.
I am a pretty good putter of the ball, and we went to a course where I was an assistant for 5 years so I knew the greens
very well. The concept is quite simple, and like anything worth while it takes some practice. The end result is that it changed the way I approached my putts,
but I have used what little I have learned the rest of the season and the results a very very good.
I do a lot of fitting, especially with putters and I found that it is the one area that most golfers could benefit the most because they practice the least.
This one is a No Brainer! You want to play better golf ? spend the money go to AimPoint and have your putter fit to you, scores will drop quickly!
You spend more $ messing with drivers for a couple of more yards, and they won't help your scoring as much.

While I agree with fitting and instruction, there are other choices in putter fitting and instruction outside of AimPoint for people. It depends on what someone wants and having been through quite a few, I preferred putter fitting than I did Aimpoint. Nothing wrong with the system mind you, just something worked for me better.

AimPoint does not do putter fitting, they are about reading greens.
They would certainly recommend you get a putter fitting, but that's your choice.
I know that AimPoint has some relationship with Edel, but you are not required to or lead to them.
As for myself I am a SeeMore SPi instructor and again seeing how many golfers have poor set ups, I personally think
one shoud go with the other if you want to improve.
