ITR is back this week with their weekly show and it is filled with information. THP welcomes a special guest from True Temper Shafts to discuss the creation of the new DG Spinner Shaft.
http://thehackersparadise.com/home/?p=10556 On this episode: The Incredible Feat by True Temper at the Ryder Cup Wedge Shafts & the Groove Rule Change DG Spinner Shafts What is Next for True Temper in Iron Shafts and so much more. As always you can listen to it streaming right here as well as download it from here. The show is also available at ITunes & Podcast.com Stay tuned, because very soon we will be announcing a contest with these as well, and it might pertain to what is on the show. This is a press release True Temper Sports’ all-new DG Spinner shafts helped capture THE PLAYERS Championship this weekend. The first-time PGA TOUR winner was bogey-free during the final 26 holes playing the new DG Spinner in his sand and lob wedges, to compliment the Rifle shafts in his irons. “We are very excited that the champion’s first PGA TOUR win could also be the first tour win for our innovative DG Spinner shafts,” says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. “True Temper is committed to continually developing shafts that provide top-level performance and accuracy and our new DG Spinner shafts are no exception, which was clearly evident in the champion’s amazing 36-hole come-from-behind victory.” Launched just recently on tour, the new DG Spinner wedge shaft is the latest technology from the highly popular Dynamic Gold line of shafts. “We specifically designed the DG Spinner shaft to lower ball launch and increase ball spin during full- and low-impact swing conditions,” says Greg Cavill, True Temper’s director of metals R&D and engineering. “To do this, we created a unique section located beneath the grip that effectively decreases launch angles by as much as three degrees and simultaneously increases the ball’s spin rate by as much as 700+ rpm. This creates a wedge shot with a more penetrating ball flight for distance control and increased spin for greater stopping power on the green.” DG Spinner shafts will be offered in an optimized wedge series and available in two flexes — Wedge-flex for sand and lob wedges and Wedge+-flex for gap and pitching wedges. DG Spinner will be available to the public later this year. In the overall shaft count at THE PLAYERS, True Temper led with 124 sets in play while the nearest competitor fielded only 12 sets. The victory marked the 16th PGA TOUR win for True Temper this season. |

I wanted to bump this one up because most of the folks at the outing had a chance to try these out. They were equipped in both the new Mizuno wedges we had out there as well as the xFT wedges we had out there. If you had a chance to try them out, give us your feedback.
I for one am in LOVE with these. So smooth through the swing, I feel like they offer both stability and finesse all at once. I must have them in my regular wedges. Thinking about getting a set and sending them off to Vibrant for some custom treatment. |

I have a brand-new MP T-11 wedge. It's a replacement for my MX-200 SW in my 3-SW set with IS4 regular graphite shafts that I traded-in for a new set of MP-53's.
Unfortunately, I have no real comparisons (steel shaft to steel shaft) except to say that they seem to feel good in my hands and with my swing. In short, no complaints. |

I don't know if I remember trying these. I think the XFT's I tried were the KBS? They look like this. ![]() As always the folks that make their way out to the THP Outing & Demo Day get treated to some new and cool stuff. These were not even on my radar, but now I must have them. |

Any idea on how this would relate to shots from right around the green? I'm imagining it wouldn't since the swingspeed is low, just curious. |

+1 Really liked the feel of those. Totally forgot that they had these shafts in them, really excited about these wedges even more than I was before!
i demo'd the mizzie wedges most of the time on sunday and i loved the way they felt. it was hard to gage any sort of extra spin and whatnot due to the fact we were using range balls but they did perform quite well. |
