i would go for it. at the end of the day, the CSS on the course will reflect how easy it is on any given day for competition and handicap purposes.

go for it... sounds like its well worth the fees and you could always hit a longer course whenever you feel like it

the longer courses around here are much "easier" to me than the short courses here
longer courses - wide open/ huge greens/ less trouble
shorter courses - really tight/ blind shots into greens(and everywhere else)/ forced carries over junk you cant even walk into/ tiny greens

im not the greatest target golfer but the lil courses are a bigger challenge to me

There's a lot to be said for a shorter course. My home course is pretty short, but it's tough. No par 5s, and a lot of people will scoff and say it must be easy. Quite the opposite. I'd love a couple of par 5s on my course to make my handicap look better! Short game is where the money is.
