Default First Day 2011
First day out in 2011 today.
Weather was high 50’s, 12-16mph wind +gusts. Half-jokingly, I planned for lingering snow by gaming yellow e6 balls today.
So great to get back out.

Beaver Brook, Annandale NJ

Hole 7 was closed while the staff worked to shovel snow off the back of the green.

When I saw this bunker scene; I just had to bring up my Camera app...

Yea our courses are all just buried in snow. When i went to the heated bay range that i have gone to all winter, they were bringing in big plastic weave bags (would have been burlap in the old days) with thousands of balls as they just have not been able to pick any of them up. There is a whole winter's worth of balls all out there in the landing areas.

The range has been really packed the last few times that I have gone. I thought I would beat the rush today by showing up early and the darned thing was already packed even early in the morning.

I played well.
I spend quite a bit more time at the range in the winter. It feels good to see practice pay off.

Nice!! It's good to get out even if there is a bit of snow in the bunkers and on some greens!

Great to see that you got out to the course Glenn. I can remember living in NY. Winters were a bear. I would just go into my local golf store and browse for hours buying crap that I didn't need.

Glad to hear you got a round in. BB is a nice course (I love the driveable par 4). I get there maybe 4 times a year. Got my 1st round in a couple weeks ago in 40 mph @ Indian Spring. Caught a tailwind for a 400 yard drive! gotta love winter golf in NJ.
