Default The Outing Concludes
The THP Fall Golf Outing & Demo Day Weekend has officially come to an end. We want to thank everybody that came to this event and hope it was everything that you had hoped for going in. GolferGal and myself had a tremendous time getting know each and every person through dinner, drinks, golf, and more. We had an absolute blast. I want to make note of a few things about the weekend.

Friday Night
GG and I checked in and then saw the room that PGA National Resort & Spa had given us. WOW! We could move here. 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a pool table and bar in our room. Very cool. Drinks Friday night was a blast. Seeing familiar faces from the Spring outing mixed in with tons of new faces and finally getting to put the face to a screen name was a good time. We went to bed far too late, but it was worth it.

Saturday Demo Day
I want to thank thanks1974, puttin4bird, and tcalloway1 for helping us setup the demo day. We knew we had a lot of stuff for golfers to try out, but we really had no idea that we had THIS MUCH. 10 staff bags filled with iron set after iron set and then drivers, hybrids, and more around each staff bag as well. Lots of really good top notch equipment that was so cool to be the 1st people to try them out. We will have separate reviews coming up this week on each company from Demo Day. GG & I will organize threads on it and demo day participants can/will give their thoughts in each thread. I had a blast getting to know each person out there and chat about golf, their gear, and some of the new stuff we were all hitting. I think its unanimous what surprised the heck out of the new stuff coming out. But more to come on that in different threads.

Saturday Golf
Champion Course was FREAKING AWESOME! It lulled you in and then spanked you like a red headed step child. I played with thanks1974, hawk308, PR Guy, and myself and we had a great time. In the wind, that course is very hard, and at the same time VERY fun. The scenery on the course is awesome, but in the end, I could have been playing a local muni and it would not have mattered, because the 3 guys I was with were a complete blast. We laughed, we cried (from laughing), and we saw good shots and bad. This round of golf was truly a memory for me.

Saturday THP Dinner
I want to thank PGA National Resort & Spa for assisting us in putting this together. The food was SOOOOO GOOD. Having a private banquet room for a bunch of rowdy guys made so much sense and the resort did a fantastic job of pulling this off. The HUGE giveaway involving the prize wheel was TONS of fun. Some great prizes were given away and watching people's excitement as they spun the wheel or chanted while someone else did was a great time. GG and I want to thank you both from the bottom of our heart's for the act of kindness that each person displayed later in that night when tcalloway1 stood up and made a speech (as only he could have in his backwoods accent) and handed us incredible gifts (GG got a 7 hour spa day, I got the baddest staff bag created) for organizing this. Im getting teary eyed just remembering it. Thank you all.

After the dinner we all continued to have a few drinks...Some more than others (ddec), and we ended up back at I-bar. Another great night with great people.

Sunday Demo Day
Started out with another great contest as we lined everybody up and gave them a shot at a 100 foot putt. Closest won a custom prototype putter numbered and stamped with their name from West Coast Putter Co. This putt had 3 breaks, 3 slopes, and the grain changed 4 times. Bulldog MADE IT! Incredible putt. Once that concluded everybody tried out putters and wedges for a few hours and also spent the morning chatting with each other like old friends. It was a great sight to see as it seemed as though everybody was having a blast. Glad Sunday Demo Day was light because a few people were very tired.

Sunday Golf
When they said the Palmer course would be a nice break after playing the Champion Course, they were LYING! It was very tough and was also again so much fun. I played with tcalloway, hawk, and Yoccos. What a great time we had out there. We laughed so much that by the end, my sides hurt. But then again, that could all be from TC's 18th hole (dude got the best 12 ever). I want to thank TC for playing because if he was not there, I would have had to buy my own 1st couple of drinks last night. But since I won, I got to do so with his money...hehe. In this group, we had some of the craziest scenes from a round of golf and it just made it so much fun. And did I mention TC got a 12 on the 18th hole?

Some Quick Hits
Im going to forget a ton of things that will hopefully get posted in this thread about what people thought of the THP Outing and some memorable things that happened during the weekend, but here are a few.

thanks1974, stay away from the wedges. I know puttin4bird and his ankle will agree with me.

ddec will some day learn the difference between an elevator and a bathroom, because he clearly was unaware on Saturday night. He may have out thanksed thanks.

Did I mention that TC got a 12 on the 18th hole. That was the most epic 12 ever!

No pressure, but hawk308 will be shooting in the low 80s by the next outing. Man has he improved so much! He also had the greatest 4 yard drive ever on Sunday.

Telling your group, you are going to hit it thin in the bunker and hit it over the green into the water, made me look like I could predict anything.

When Ole Gray speaks, real words come out and not smileys.

biggsy put in far too much work to miss this outing and I want to personally thank him, even though he was not here.

Once again we were weirdo free I believe. That is worth the price of admission.

Would anybody have ever guessed that after demo day OEM Kevin said he wanted a new driver? Really?

OEM Kevin thought the service at the sports bar Sunday night was the best he had ever received.

bama fits in a travel bag! No more needs to be said. PERIOD!

Conclusion
GG & I learned once again how great the THP forum members are. Gather 50 of them together for a golf outing and leave with memories that will last forever. We had an absolute blast and hope everybody else did as well. There was even a marriage proposal last night and we DEFINITELY want to congratulate them and say "now you have to come each year".

It is weekends like this that make everything worth it. The people that were here were wonderful and in the end, that is truly what makes a golf outing, a memorable trip. Thank you all that made the journey to FL for this event and we promise, we will even try and out do ourselves for the next one.

Looks like you guys had an awesome time! I really hope I can make it to one in the future. Hey I heard TC made a 12 on 18? Care to elaborate on the bama and the travel bag thing? BTW great putt Bulldog!

I want to add my +1.

Not only was this the absolute BEST golf outing I've ever attended but these were the BEST people I've ever had the pleasure to hang out with, laugh non stop with, talk nonstop golf, gear, and more golf with in my life! I made life long friends this weekend.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and my pink Freestyle Ping bag to JB & GolferGal for arranging this incredible weekend.

I'll add my +1 in as well. This was an absolutely great time. There are some truly awesome people here. And getting to know them better is a huge bonus. I too will save an "official" review until I am back home and can type on a regular keyboard again. This netbook I'm on is just a little awkward for me still. Thanks again go to JB and GG and the whole THP family. This was truly an amazing experience at an amazing location. Pluis winning the TaylorMade Prize Pack with the SuperFast driver, Ghost putter (that thing is absolutely incredible), and pack of Penta balls (although all but three were "donated" to the Palmer Course) is the icing on the cake for me. My scores were not great, (in fact my game is in complete shambles) but great times were had none-the-less.

Thanks THP!!

The best part is that everyone who decided to come to this outing played a role in making it such a great time. I wish there was more time as I feel and didn't have time to hang out or chat with everyone as much as I wanted to.

The resort and the courses and the staff was first class. Like others I will post more from my CPU but until then, yes, I put a 12 on the card on the 18th, and I lost some money to JB, but it was the most fun 12 I've ever carded

I cannot tell you how much Gray and I enjoyed this outing! It was absolutely the best time I have ever had golfing and the people were the best. I loved getting to know everyone. I took loads of pictures and can't wait to get home (we're in the air right now) and share them with everyone. Everyone thought "TheDue" sounded just like Jeff Foxworthy so I taped a cell phone video of him saying, "You know you are a redneck IF" and I will be starting a redneck thread with that on it later. Don't worry Clay, I have a pic that will explain Bama and the travel bag. The golf courses were awesome. I was so proud to break 100 both days! They were as tough as they get, especially with the wind gusts. Josh and Morgan - you two are the best. Thank you so much for putting this outing together. I will never forget it!
