Stern is about shock and self promotion....Both of which he has stirred up here. I have never been a fan, but I think the contest is kinda funny.

To me, that's his greatest sin. Just.not.funny.

And I have never understood all of the people who claim to believe he is funny. I mean, I have a pretty broad spectrum when it comes to things I think are funny. From fart and boobie jokes, to British comedies, to Shakespeare - I find humor in all of it. But not Stern.

I agree 100%. I think its his arrogance that turns me off. Ill listen sometimes but after all of these years I cant think of a time I laughed hysterically.

Back in the old days when he was on AM radio, and TV he would have a girl lay across his lap, back side up, and "play the bongos". The girl in question was usually wearing a bikini.

He is a PDB (Professional Douche Bag). He gets PAID to be like that. And I agree, Harry, Stern is not funny. Never could watch or listen to him.

That's because as golfers we hold ourselves to a higher standard! We're better than everyone else.........sound like an opinion?

the "degrading women" is a common misunderstanding by people who don't listen, or only listen to small portions or clips and don't understand the show


he does degrade CERTAIN women, (like lately he's been ripping on ellen degeneres pretty hard in reference to her comments about him and american idol) he's said plenty of harsh things about individual women (and individual men too) but he's actually not negative towards women in general, and he's also very supportive of the homosexual community as well.

Howard noted that Tiger Woods' main mistress, Rachel Uchitel, wanted to appear in the show's Tiger Woods Mistress Beauty Pageant, but had to back out for legal reasons. Gary came in to explain: "I spoke to her yesterday. It was really funny because I had asked her to be in the contest...she said she couldn't be in the contest but she couldn't tell me why." Gary said Rachel wanted to send a cardboard cut-out/standee of herself instead, but Howard didn't think cardboard could compete with the other ladies.

degrade: to lower in dignity, character, or quality

From the few shows that I've watched while channel surfing, it seems every show involves scantily clad women standing at a microphone being interviewed about whatever and eventually are coaxed into removing their tops by Stern so he can judge the quality of their "assets". Granted every show is not like this, but to me, this is reducing the dignity and quality of women to nothing more than sex objects. These actions suggest that Stern, and perhaps Tiger Woods by his actions as well, view women mostly as sex toys, and do not respect them as actual equals.

This episode, or contest, or whatever, will essentially do the same thing. These women will allow Stern to degrade them to nothing more than sex toys for money, just as Tiger Woods did. IMHO
