assalamu alaikum ![]() The misconceptions listed below by Br. Nomadic are overwhelming. First of all, not EVERY teacher in Saudi Universities is Saudi. In fact many of the teachers for Islam studies are NOT Saudi, There are teachers from Jordan, Syria, and Afghanistan and many other countries. Secondly, you don't NEED to know anything to come here, you can start with absolutely ZERO and you can learn Arabic and then get accepted into the College of your choice. Third, There are two types of colleges related to Quran. One for Hifz, which you NEED to be a haafiz to enter, and the other for usool/tafseer which you don't need to be haafiz to enter, as for what they want you to memorize while in College I don't know. Here is the webpage of King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, in English. http://colleges.ksu.edu.sa/education...epartment.aspx |

Bismillah
This is pre 1980s. Things have changed for the worse! The syllabus is not the same as before! I think Azhar or any of the well reputed university in Sham will be better. What about South Africa. Ummul Qurra fares little better then MAdinah institute. This is not my statment but the views of many seassoned ustad who taught many of the young farigs went off to KSA to further their studies. the muhammad bin saud university in riyadh had shaykh abdul fattah abu ghuddah amongst its teachers. It all depends. |

Ismail Desai, ![]() I have confirmed with someone at the Darul Iftaa that Mufti Ebrahim Desai (HA) does offer the Takhassus Fil Tafseer and if anyone is interested then all queries should be directed to the Darul Iftaa . I do hope that if Maulana Abu Uzair gets any updates then I request him to post here ![]() ![]() |
