Default Indian Actor Visits Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah To Promote His Movie :(
wrwb.

Ranbir Kapoor at Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah

With a guitar dangling across his body, a white kurta and jeans clad Ranbir Kapoor was seen at the Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah in the Capital on Monday night to seek blessings for his upcoming film, Rockstar. In tow were the film’s director Imtiaz Ali, and singer Mohit Chauhan, along with the thousand or so fans who wanted a glimpse of what they earlier thought was a visit by actor Salman Khan! Kapoor, though, didn’t seem to mind that.

“Salman is the biggest star in the country. We all are aspiring to become what he is,” said Kapoor. After the trio offered prayers, they sat down in the courtyard with the qawwals and sang Kun Fayakun, a qawwali in the movie that has been filmed in the shrine. Calling the experience extremely spiritual, he went on to explain how link-up rumours with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, his Rockstar co-star Nargis Fakhri and newcomer Angela Johnson don’t bother him. “I am 28 years old. I work really hard, l love my job and I love women. I don’t love men. So I will date women till the time I can find the perfect woman whom I can marry, and nobody can stop me!”

The duo arrived with Hiren Gandhi of Shree Ashtavinayak, along with several members of the production team. And from what we heard, they were accompanied by 45 bouncers! They were soon joined by singer Mohit Chauhan, the voice behind Ranbir's character Jordan in the flick. The team first offered a chaadar at Amir Khusrau's tomb, and Imtiaz also placed the movie's music CD near the tomb. After that, all of them joined the special qawwals who were to conclude the four day Urs festival that was going on at the dargah. Once they all sat down, Ranbir and Mohit also sang the qawwali from the movie "Kun Faaya Kun", which has been shot at the dargah. Later, Ranbir and Imtiaz donned their "Rockstar" jackets, with Ranbir even carrying his Jordan bag! After people started leaving post midnight, the actor-director once again joined the qawwali group to be part of their musical celebrations.

Close to midnight, when Ranbir finally made it to the dargah in-charge Syed Afsar Ali Nizami's office in the premises, we caught up with him, and he said, "I've spent four nights here. The song that you heard right now was shot here and I have a deep attachment to this place. I'm extremely grateful to Imtiaz, Mohit and AR Rahman who helped me go through the experience of making this song, which is important to the character Janardhan Jhakkhar aka Jordan because that's when he really connects to a superior being."

Imtiaz, who was accompanied by wife Priti, told us that he's been coming to the dargah for almost 4-5 years, since the time he started writing the story of "Rockstar". He added, "I feel some kind of a drive when I come here. The story brought me here and I want to thank Afsar bhai for helping us. The dargah comes at a juncture in the movie when the internal journey of this character begins and he finds himself spending too much time at the dargah and a certain sense of spirituality enters him and his music without his choice and without his intention. We just felt that we should come here to seek the blessings of the saint, for the music, before it hits the stands."

Pluto Brother,

We have better topics to discuss, should we really bother who is going to which Dargah.

Allah Bless us ALL with right guidance.

1. Bollywood promoting movie at the dargah.
2. Shooting a song at the dargah.
3. AR Rehman (Muslim music director) producing the music.

The 1st & 2nd one are new fitnah's, all I know is if we don't protest at this juncture, take my word for it, Bollywood will have another avenue to promote its movies.

How should that matter to anyone? Least of all you and me. All I'm trying to point out is let us not give them a stage to promote haraam on the mazaars of our pious saints.

wrwb, yes, it is full of barelwis and mushriks, when I was there last time, I paid my respects from afar and didn't go inside the main place - where hadrath ra is buried bcoz of the women, both ours and mushriks, (mostly) no purdah whatsoever, no niqaab whatsoever, when you go there at noontime & post noon, it gets disgusting...

I have heard worse stuff happens at the Dargah than music and movie promotions so yes, I don't think it is an issue worth mentioning that they're shooting a movie there or whatever. Shirk is a worse issue and that is commonplace at not just this, but various other shrines.

wrwb, bro abdulwahhab, 2 things:

1. I agree with that worst things happen at the mazaar, and I do know what they are, but they happen on the sly. Not this.

2. This fitnah is only going to grow once the movie is out.

3. But it does not mean we don't condone this, the words of Hadrath Harun Yahya db echo in my ears when he very rightly said...
"What people across frequently, they tend to eventually grow used to. This familiarity can so develop over time that things which elicit violent surprise or protest when first witnessed become routine matters just a short while later" - from his book 'the world of islam today and tomorrow'.

InshaAllah, I will be sending snailmail and email to some of India's newspapers & news-channels + the movie's producers (if I get their contact details), I'll do what I can. Thats' it.

just my opinion brother.

Are WE not promoting it by discussing this issue? I agree Bro pulto, wat you are pointing here but think guy like me who is surfing to your thread, the second thought would be wat is the story? Who is the hero all this whisper will start.. Better, why to start or discuss unwanted topics.

I felt we have more important issues to discuss like how I help myself to reach Allah/Jannah, and how may I be of any help to Umma by discussing this very thread?

Allah Knows better.

Assalamu alaykum

With my limited experience, I predict disaster for this group (the actor, the musicians and people who supported them).

Well Brothers, lets discuss on the point... How can we stop the beliefs of going to dargah will get Allah's help in our Haram/illegitimate things in life to prosper?

Dargah is a place.. where saints are resting and it is a sign to believers to know, how Allah helped the saints and blessed them for their humanity service to identify the truth of life rather we use these places for promoting our business, fame and other illegitimate things today. so SAD to see these days
