The vaccine is well received though at college they only vaccinated the girls who were under 18 and I was 18 or 19 at the time.

I only brought it up with my doctor because I read online about young mothers (19 and younger) having an increased risk of cervical cancer. And as I gave birth at 17, I just wanted advice on it.
Ugh that's so stupid! The cutoff age is 26 here, how much could it cost to vaccinate people you can't give pap smears?

I really don't know. I suppose I could ask my doctor if I'm still young enough to have it but I just thought I was too old, especially after I talked to my doctor about smear tests. You'd have thought he would have offered it? :s

Vaccinations are weird at times. I got vaccinated for TB in my final year of school (everyone was 15/16) but my sister wasn't vaccinated at all in her final year cos they'd stopped doing it (she is 4 years younger than me). My brother (5 years younger) was vaccinated against TB but only cos someone in the school had TB and there was a risk of him getting it.
I can't really understand why they stopped doing it especially as there have been reports of TB being on the rise.
