Default Quesiton of lump in armpit
Male. 16. I'm 32 days in and 33 pounds down! 240.5-207.5

Just a few days ago I noticed a marble sized, painless, lump right under the skin (not bulging) of my left armpit. I did a bit of research and saw this could be node infection from deoterent w/drying products (i use deoterent with a few swipes each pit each morning lol) or things as far as cancer that has spread to the lymph node.

Question: Should I play be safe rather than sorry, and get it looked at? (I find it hard that this is not a coincidence that the appearence of this lump and taking a female hormone at the same time) Or is this normal for the body during VLCD because of 500 calories and half gallon of water ea day. If thats the case you think it would've formed faster? Thanks ahead of time

Get it checked out. I don't think the hormone necessarily would have caused this. While it could just be an inflamed node, I believe those happen more with females due to shaving armpits. I had one once and the doc had to lance it and it really hurt. But I was glad it was not cancerous. Don't mess around with swollen nodes in the armpit area. Good luck!

I have to alternate deoderants each month or I get them. They go right back away when I switch. It doesn't hurt at all to have it checked by your dr. to ease your mind.

This is a coincidence, and has nothing to do with hCG. I would guess it is just a sebaceous cyst. As often as you can, use hot compresses on it for a few days (i.e. get in a hot tub of water and make sure that armpit stays down under the surface, or get a bowl of HOT water and continuously put a wet washcloth on it), and also make sure you rub the area well with a soapy washcloth to help exfoliate the surface and help it open up.

It's likely a cyst or a lypoma (fatty beneign tumor) but you should get it checked out. We see these on the forum occasionally, but it's usually due to losing weight around the bump, so it's now visible to you .

Always check out a lump under the armpit. More often than not the cause is benign, but since it can also be a symptom of something more serious, better to be safe than sorry.

FYI I had a *painful*, pea-sized lump over a 2-3 month period. I got x-rayed and it turned out to be a swollen node , I was fighting a stubborn infection. My doctor told me I was right to get it checked so they could rule out a serious illness.

I wouldn't be at all concerned about this especially since it isn't painful, but with that said it's always better to check it out. So my advice would be to do just that.

Hi jakevo, I hope the lump on your armpit turns out ok, given your age, it probably is nothing.

Just a Q for ya: how has the diet been for you, side effect wise? I have a 17 year old son who interested in losing quite a bit of fat. I was just wondering if HCG is safe for teens? BTW, congrats on your losses.
