Default questions about meds, p2 foods, and chapstick
questions about meds and p2 foods

Hello - I'm starting day 1 today and have a few questions after reading the recommended newbie info. This is a double post, I got no reply on the newbie forum.

1. I'm planing to continue taking 5HTP and an Adrenal complex. Any concerns with that? (I am temporarily going to drop chormium piccolinate, D3, and Relora. I'll pick up the D3 for phase 3 and see about the other two when the time comes)

2. I have sleep apnea and use a c-pap. I cannot sleep without an rx sleeping pill. Can I continue?

3. I have anxiety issues and plan to continue taking valerian as needed. Any problem there?

4. Why are xylitol, green beans, venison, and turkey not listed as ok foods in p2?

5. Lipstick is listed as ok. What about chapstick? I am addicted to my chapstick!

Thanks for help!

If you read Pounds and Inches, Dr. S says to stay on prescription medications. He also lists "protocol" foods and says that he has tested others and these work best. I have seen some arguments on the forum that turkey was not mentioned b/c they are rare in Europe and it may be fine if it is natural (not processed) breast meat. xylitol is fine in P3 and P4 but not in P2 as it is a sugar alcohol, none of these are allowed. I used carmax instead of chapstick- just didnt want to take any chances. definitely recommend reading P&I a few times though. stick to protocol and you will see great results. if you vary from protocol- well, some do fine and some don't.

I continued all my supplements while I was on hcg. I would continue the D3 as it really helps your immune system. It's actually a hormone not a vitamin so would be really good also. Check your sleeping pill it may contain sugar. Or give it a try and if you aren't losing properly look at that. I use a sleep patch that I place on my pillow and I sleep like a baby! I also use a stress patch and take better mood so I would think the valerian should be fine. Just read the ingredients again and check for sugar. It's amazing how that stuff is hidden! Some of the reason those foods aren't listed is the fat content, and some is they weren't popular when Dr. Simeon's studied this. I once again would check your losses if you want to try some. I would do some clean days with just on protocol foods and establish a "normal" then use 1 thing and see. I wouldn't add something new every day give yourself 2 or 3 days in between. I also used chapstick and didn't have a problem. Again it's an individual thing check your losses...

Have fun!! You will enjoy this!
