OFF PROTOCOL!

I tried it. Don't have coco oil so used a tiny dab of margarine in the pan. added a tad of spinach, a spoon of rotel, salt, pepper & 2oz of grilled shredded chicken.

Down 1.4 today

BTW ... it wasn't THAT tasty, however, much better & different than what I was GOING to eat

Just a clarification.....the one whole egg with 2 or 3 egg whites are ok on protocol for p2, per Dr. S.....it's the coconut oil that I think colleen is referring to as being off protocol. I do the eggs once in a while with spinach....but I use water or pam cooking spray (horrible, I know), instead of the coconut oil. I have a jar of coconut oil ready to go for p3, but I am scared to use it on p2......just not that much of a rogue yet, I guess. ))

Another forum I belong to says that eggs on p3 make for a good weight correction day if you can't do a steak day. I used it a couple of times last p3 and I always lost with it. What you do is only eat eggs, all day long....about 6 to 8 of them....maybe add some lettuce or spincah but that is it. I always lost 1.5 to 2 bs doing that. I wonder if that is the same principle that applies here and folks are seeing for p2?? Just a thought. )

Yes, the coconut oil is off protocol. I am worried about my gallbladder, however; so I try to do this a couple times a week. I tried the cocoa crack and was up .5 pound, so have just been sticking with the omelet. It doesn't take much, the oil is solid at room temp and melts quickly. I try to do at least 1/2 tsp to a tsp for my gallbladder though...

I found coconut oil in GNC & I have also seen it in Raleys in the organic section by the Braggs Amino Acid!

I eat eggs a couple of times a week during P2 & have always done good with it both rounds! Some people can't though & if it is your first round I would strongly suggest you follow protocol on every little thing

I had this omelet last night and I was up .4 this morning. I was very much hoping for the great losses that everyone else is expereincing but I can't say for sure what made me gain. I had an orange mid morning and did not "go" yesterday. I have been suprisingly regular on this round. I did smooth move last night and it worked! I hope to see a happier scale in the tomorrow.

I tried it last night and I was up .6 this morning. I ate an apple for lunch and drank two cups of green tea. I had the omelet for dinner. It was very yummy, but I did not see the loses I was hoping for. I did not have any cocount oil, so I did not use anything. My pan is non-stick and that worked fine. I have been stalled for the past five days and nothing seems to work. I tried an apple day with no luck. Today I'm doing a protein day in hopes that will help. I need to see some loses because I'm getting discouraged.

tmoon, so sorry to hear about your stall. This morning my scale said 0.0 change. I have yet to see a loss greater than a pound yet. It is very discouraging, especially to go through such hell. I am a veggie and this is the hardest thing (besides quitting smoking). My hcg was off so I was hungry as well. It sucks to suffer for "nothing" however, I am holding on to hope (for me and you) that it is water weight. I mean, how can anyone eat 500 cals a day and not lose? I only at 400 yesterday and had no change. I did, however, drink three quarts of water. You'd think it would be running through me, but, it's not, so, I can only hope htat is the culprit. How is your water intake vs. output?

mixing the two veggies is off protocol...and the eggs are only allowed as a backup really.

You can have it on P2 without the oil. Just don't mix the veggies.

Just a thought for those of you who do it at dinner. Could be that your body hasn't had time to digest the eggs and oil. I can't have eggs at night because my body takes longer to digest them. Same with steak. If I have it at dinner my losses or minimal or not at all.

You can have it on p2 as long as you just put one veggie with it....either tomatoes, or spinach or onion....but not a combination of 2 or 3 veggies....and with no coconut oil. It is a substitution meal in Dr. S's manuscript just as 100 gm of fat free cottage cheese is too.

I had it with spinach an onions as described in one of the threads. That could be part of the problem. Next time I have it I'll try it with only one veggie. Perhaps, having it at dinner was not a good idea. Lunch might better so my stomach can digest it. Thanks!

BUt he only says to do it if you can't stomach meat any longer. That makes it sound like it's not the best for your losses. And the coconut oil is definitely off protocol.

and eating it makes you really crave cheese. Thats what that omlet really needed, was a few think pieces of mozerella cheese or swiss. LOL> i am gonna save that for p3.

I had mine with just the spinach. I haven't eaten spinach on protocol yet or the eggs so I can't really say what happened. It has been a very frustrating 1 1/2 weeks with minimal losses and I am very discouraged. :-( I wanted to try the omelet to see if it would help since everyone was having great success. All I can hear in the back of my head is my mom saying "If your friends jumped off a cliff, would you do the same?"

I had a nice piece of fish and some asparagus for dinner. I am hoping for better news tomorrow.

TMoon,

Did you eat lunch or just the Apple for lunch...It sounds like you skipped a meal and my guess that would stall you... shouldn't skimp on protein,...

is that correct everyone.

I had a friend who did the omlette (no coco oil) on P2 no more than 2 times a week and had success on it..
I had mine for lunch today, mainly because I was afraid I worked out too hard in gym, I was in a mood... So if I am up tomorrow that will be why... boo hoo, but I am still hopeful!

Well get this...........
I haven't posted the last couple of days because I have been on a 4 day stall!!! VLCD11 down 10lbs - now 11lbs.
I had the "Miracle omlette" and I finally lost a lb!!
I used a non-stick pan, put some water and a little chicken broth in the pan to steam the spincach, added onion powder and I used "Real egg" from Costco, 30 cal per 1/4 C serving, (I used 3/4 C) I mixed in about 2T of salsa (naughty) and S & P to taste and it was delish! I can't wait to hear about more of everyone's experience with this.
Maybe fatcat made a new break-thru!! I have had this 2 times for dinner and have lost every time, and it broke my 4 day sickening stall!! So who knows what is was, but I am a fatcat fan!!
