Default Break before starting phase 3?
Hi everyone,

I know this is probably going to be a very stupid question, but how badly do you think it would hurt me if I did a little two day break after I am finished with phase 2 before starting phase 3? I only ask because I previously planned a Vegas trip with my friend before I decided to do this diet and we will be going two days after my last HCG day. I am not concerned about drinking (not really a drinker) but I've never been to Vegas and have always wanted to do their buffets. What should I do? I am so scared that I will gain everything back if I go to a buffet. I don't know if this is really helpful information but I lost about 30 pounds two years ago from calorie counting and exercising but I never did get down to my goal weight. I put back a few of those pounds this summer (stupid) and just thought this diet would be a good way to take them off, and finally get to my goal weight. I only want to lose about 15 pounds. I am so scared of gaining weight back from doing one little thing wrong!

EDIT - I meant to put this in the general section. Oh well. It's probably just as good here.

I don't think anything good can come of taking a break at that point. It is hard enough to get things settled down after P2, when going into a nice gradual P3 without going over your 2 pound allowance. I think it would be a disaster. There are very few things so wonderful on a buffet that are worth undoing all of my hard work on P2. Plus that is a time when you need to stabilize, helping your hypothalamus reset.

I certainly would not let being in P3 keep me from going on a trip to Vegas, but I certainly would not turn myself loose with wild abandon on the buffets. I have found it incredibly easy to have some great meals at restaurants while on P3. But you would have to make a conscious effort to stick with it to do so.

One thing I have found at least for myself is that all the food I craved during P2, I really crave very little now that I am in P3. To be perfectly honest, most days it is a chore to decide what I will eat and to prepare it. Food is no longer driving my bus, if you know what I mean. It is difficult to get me real excited about a buffet these days, but in P2, OMG I would have had huge fantasies about it. Early on in P3 my Sis and I had to go to Indy and we both had wanted to try out a Brazilian Steakhouse which is like a huge delicious meatfest combined with a huge food bar. Well I made up my mind that I wanted to try it and set my mind that I would stick with my diet... well I was amazed how easy it was, and how quickly I got full. What our brains think can fit into our stomachs and what we actually are capable of consuming at that point are two different things. I think you would regret not going on the trip, but I would not allow it to ruin all of your hard work in P2.

Thank you for your reply, crazycatlady! Love the name (people call me the very same thing, haha). I have really decided that this diet is not for me. I really admire all those that go through with it and God Bless you all!! I just can't. I don't have that much to lose anyways. I'll go back to the gym and continue counting calories. Too much restriction causes too much despair.
