One other thing to consider is that your chosen goal weight may not be the goal weight for your body. It may be too low. If you insist on losing more and you're not losing at all, something must be changed in your diet and exercise. If you're losing slowly... then all is good. Like Blue said, the last 10# can take months to lose.

Losing the last ten and maintaining that loss can't be done on zero carb, all meat diets. Do you plan to eat that way the rest of your life?? You have to lose the last ten in the manner in which you plan to eat the rest of your life... it's the only way it will stay off. At this point your diet should be high in low carb vegetables... with reasonable meat servings (not huge steaks anymore and lean is necessary)... limited added fats (watch the serving sizes of mayo, salad dressing, etc). You should also be at the point where you have added back items like fresh berries, plain yogurt, soft cheeses, whole grains (limited, small portions).

Read up on the maintenance phase... this is how you should be eating now. The transition from losing the last ten to maintenance eating should be seamless... no change at all.

Hope this helps.

Exactly what Tril and Blue said. I've been re reading the book
lately and if anything has been reinforced to me in doing that, it's that this way of eating is not a quick fix. It probably didn't take you a month to gain all your weight, so it's going to take you a while to lose it. And the slower you ease down to your goal, the better chance you have of sticking to it.

I do wish you luck and willpower in resisting all those world cup temptations. I can't imagine the kind of stress that could being on. Maybe munch on a handfull of nuts when you're watching the games, or thin slices of raw zucchini dipped in guacamole... Mmm...

LIFE is challenging. We will always have celebrations, parties, dining out, family gatherings, holidays, vacations, disappointments, frustrations, deaths, births, etc in our lives. We have to learn that these "events" are life and make them part of our lifelong commitment to being healthy. We have to learn HOW to participate in life without destroying our bodies and our health in the process... and not use them as a reason or excuse for overly indulging ourselves. A little bit, yes. A lot, NO. For us, indulgences should be non-food as often as possible. LOL
