Is this a very brief vision?

This morning I was walking down our hallway looking into the lounge and saw a black cat sitting calmly in the middle of our 2-seater counch. It was staring directly at me and had bright yellow eyes that seemed to radiate a yellow or golden light. The cat wasn't afraid and I had no fear of the cat. We stared momentarily, maybe for a second, and then I blinked. In that instant it was gone.

While watching it I was analyzing the situation in my mind. I noticed that the cat had the same clarity as the pillows on the couch - it was sitting between them. I noticed the cat had short hair and completely black. It had a nice face. The eyes were striking and bright, shining a light. It was like the eyes of a cat in darkness when a light shines on them, except the light seemed to come from within. Staring at the cat, I thought to myself that this is as real as everything else in the room - that surprised me because I expected any vision to be less tangible.

Its strange I know, and was such a brief experience.

Does anyone have an idea if this is a vision, or something else. Does a yellow-eyed black cat have any symbolic reference or meaning? Someone said I may have seen into the other side. Is that what this is? If so, I'd expect to see more than a cat.

I love it when little things like this enter my life because it just acts as a reminder that the universe is more than we see.
