Hi,
I had three interesting OOB type experiences in the last week, the first in well over a year. I thought i'd share them, plus I find writing about them before bed increases the likelihood of me having another one when I fall asleep ![]() I call these ones OOB-like experiences because I was unable to validate any of them as a true out of body experience due to lucidity issues, but they have all the trademarks of them. OOB Experience No. 1 This one took place last Saturday - I was out of town visiting family for the weekend so was not in my usual bed. I went to bed and did some energy raising and affirmations. At some point I drifted off into a deep sleep. During some point in the night I woke up, still half asleep but with very strong energy sensations. I took advantage and tried to get out my body by adopting a sort of 'hiking' movement with my energy body. This increased the vibrations dramatically, but after around a minute or so nothing more seemed to be happening so decided I would give up. However, next thing I knew I found myself standing in my bedroom. My lucidity was ok, but not perfect - my plan was to quickly leave my room and have a look downstairs, look at an item and note the exact location so that I could validate the experience in the morning when I awoke. So, I walked towards the door and thought about opening it, but decided to pass through it instead. Despite some reservations, I passed through it effortlessly. I looked down the stairs, but as I started moving down them the entire scene changed to a dream instead, and I lost lucidity and the rest of the night's sleep was a mix of odd dreams. When I actually woke up in the morning, I doubted the entire experience, because it was only when I was awake that I realised the 'OOB' actually took place in my house, rather than the family member's I was visiting. At the time I put this down to a simple dream, but was glad for the OOB-like experience nevertheless. OOB Experience No. 2 This one took place two days ago back at my home and I thought was quite amusing. I went to bed and attempted doing some energy raising but was too tired after a busy day at work, and so just fell asleep instead. At one point I remember lying in bed and attempting to leave my body. I cannot quite remember feeling energy sensations, but I vividly recall lying in bed and trying to exert pressure on my energy body to sort of 'stand up'. I remember trying so hard, that I actually stood up and walked across the room. At the time I decided that the situation was far too life-like to be a dream or an OOB, and instead I was probably actually walking around my bedroom. As such, I decided it would be best if I walk back to bed and fall asleep. When I woke up in the morning, I realised (much to my amusement) that the incident could not have actually happened in the physical, because I realised that the room in which I stood up and walked around in was actually the family member's whom I had visited in Experience No. 1! During the day I mulled this around in my head and thought it strange how two separate incidences, both of which I had been unable to verify as actual OOBs, were so similar in that they both took place in the wrong room - almost as if there was a delay in where I was supposed to be. I found it quite funny how I actually thought I had stood up when in fact I hadn't ![]() OOB Experience No. 3 This one happened this morning and was really odd - i've not had anything like this happen to me before. I woke up wide awake at 6.00am, but as it was Saturday and I had no work (and it was pitch black and cold outside) I thought I would make the most of my day off and force myself back to sleep for a lie-in. I fell asleep, and at one point woke up lying on my stomach. I decided to attempt an OOB, this time by bringing on strong feelings of vertigo - I do this by visualising and feeling that I am lifted high into the air, and then plunged fast, down into a ravine. After getting the vertigo feeling and carrying on with the exercise, I became paralysed and unable to move. At this point I felt close to projection, but couldn't quite manage it. Whilst still lying on my stomach, I tried to slowly kick my energy leg backwards - this seemed to work but I was unable to do anything else. Here's where the weird part takes place, i'll try my best to explain it in words. Before I knew it, I realised I was actually looking at myself from a different position in the room lying down in bed, and I could see my energy leg kicking backwards - but although I was looking at myself from a side angle, at the same time my point of view was in fact from my physical eyes. But that's not all, because I could feel myself looking at my sleeping body from another angle altogether - it was like I was three pairs of eyes all at the same time. I remember reading about the mindsplit effect, so in hindsight this could be that. I can't really put into words how it felt, because it was unlike anything I have experienced before. While not full-blown lucid OOBs, they've given me something to think about and given me a boost ![]() |
