Default what did you get?
what gifts do you recall from childhood, that were your dreams come true on Christmas morning.

We were talking about this on the way home from dinner tonight and I had the most vivid recall... I came out that morning to find Santa surely knew me well, there it was all set up

the glow in the dark, double loop Tyco race track! I LOVED that thing!

Although I received bigger and more expensive gifts in later years, I doubt I played with any of them more than the dump truck, crane and cement mixer I got when I was 5 years old.

The funny thing is, that I never wanted or received a train set....and then I spend 34 years railroading.

You can probably tell that we cut our own tree too.

On another note, I remember telling (more like crying I'm sure) my Mom (may she RIP) that Santa wasn't going to come........ because there wasn't a fireplace in our base housing in Florida.

So she took all of the books and shelves out of the Air Force issued bookcase.....and put brick wallpaper on it to simulate a chimney.

Mom's are so good that way.

You mom was COOL!

I had Tyco's chattenooga... it came with a bottle of liquid and you put drops in the stack and it made little wisps of smoke

had this log car, and when you stopped at the wood mill platform and pushed the lever, it would kick the logs off the car... right onto the stationary little man on the dock! ? wtf?

A Debbie doll. I first saw her in the Sears and Roebuck Christmas catalog, and showed my mom over and over again. On Christmas morning many long years ago, she was standing right by the tree at the bottom of the stairs. I couldn't believe she was waiting for me.

She was 3 ft. tall, with long dark hair and bangs, and green eyes just like mine. When her arms were stretched out in front of her, you could hold her hands, pull her along and she would walk with you. She was my companion for years.

Christmas of 77... Lafayette LR-1515 receiver and Pioneer monitor 10 headphones! Listening to live disco being broadcast on FM radio never sounded so good.

My mom made me a ceramic chess set. The board was broken during a move and the pieces are too big for a regular board so sadly they are in storage

My sister had that doll.

For some reason, I remember her name being Patty Playpal, or something.

Perhaps your parents renamed her?

do you play?
I haven't actually pushed any pawns in years all my games are online.

I'm here:
http://gameknot.com/

username is" cosmicrocker"

you can log in a challenge me to a game, if you wish, it's "postal" chess -3 days to make a move.
So you can log in move, and log back in when you want, as long as it not longer then 3 days.

I got a bunch of games going, and just won round 1 of a tournament -
but do feel free to challenge me - just establish a free account

Nope. Her name was Debbie. She wore a pink dress, matching pink hair ribbon, white socks trimmed in lace, and black patent Mary Jane shoes + underwear.

I remember my father played a trick on my grandmother when the doll was new.

We lived in the same apt. bldg. in NYC, and we stood Patty in front of grandma's door, and rang the bell.

Grandma was aged, but highly functional, and living alone.

She began a conversation with the doll, while my father hung in the hallway cracking up.

I was mistaken, it was the Christmas of 78. I was dancing around my room late at night wearing those great Pioneer headphones! At 14, disco music left quite an impression on me. I distinctly remember the first disco song I heard from that club on the radio.

Push in the bush!

This may be why Wayers is also a fan of disco and so strung out on sex!
