anyone heard of it or done it?......i'd heard of it but never saw one.....until i went up houndtor on dartmoor,what you find is a sealable box containing a notepad,pen and ink stamp....you're supposed to stamp the book and write a message.....so i wrote something like 'ian harris and bruno the dog,from coventry,west midlands'

Oh is that a GEO box/cache??? You find those with GPS.. they are spread all across the world!

I found some really weird shit in the ones I've seen. From crayola and GI Joes to condoms and beer bottle caps..

Its an outdoorsman challenge of bragging rights to leave your unique mark on as many as you can

I've found 4 in Utah and Colorado

Yes, letterboxing is all part of geocaching. I've never gotten a letterbox, but they're not very popular around these parts. I've got 111 geocaches under my belt, though, and just started going out again after a 10 month hiatus.
