I'm proud to say she beat the hell out of me and every other guy at soccer from 1st grade until senior year of high school.

She led our middle school team to two undefeated seasons, but then left for the bright lights and allure of a mediocre private school in Delaware. Damn her.

We also won the Stock Market Game Regional Championship in 5th grade competing against a bunch of high school students. Born winner.
Majority Of Olympic Field Hockey Team From Delaware Valley

For American athletes, the Olympics means putting on the red, white and blue to represent their country.
But for many of the women on the U.S. field hockey team, it also means representing the Delaware Valley.
"It'll be on the front page of the newspaper during state championships, it's bigger than football sometimes I think," said Laura Powlua, of Mountaintop, Pa.
Lauren Crandall, of Doylestown, Pa., said Pennsylvania feel like a hub for field hockey.
"Its history is based in the Pennsylvania area," said Rachel Dawson of Berlin, N.J. "West Chester was historically a great program and I think it just built upon that."
Ten of the 16 women on the Olympic team are from Pennsylvania. Another woman is from New Jersey and one is from Delaware.
Now the sport is taking center stage on the world stage.
It is a dream come true for many of the women on the team.
"I was definitely the little nerd who dreamed of the Olympics when I was younger," Dawson said.
The U.S. team has its first game on Sunday against Argentina.
"I think that first day we're there, that first time our national anthem is played at the first game, I'll realize what it's about," said Kayla Bayshore, of Shumakersville, Pa.

Default Field Hockey
Women's field hockey is going to be off the chain this year. The LeBron James of the sport will be starting for the squad. She scored the game-winning goal in the NCAA National Championship for UNC and is the youngest player on the national team.

Make sure to tune in and watch!

I'd rather have my fingernails ripped off one by one.

How exactly is she the LeBron James of field hockey? Since she went to college, it's obviously not because she got drafted by the pros straight out of high school.

I mean, the USFHL did offer her a contract similar to that of Matt Ryan, but she turned it down to set a good example for the kids.

These refs are horseshit. Might as well be playing for the German squad.

We've had some good scoring chances but the Germans put away two hit-ins and now lead 3-1.

The German women must have gone to Vlade Divac flopping camp.

4-2 loss. The Germans are just way too good. Their passing is crisper, their offensive sets are better executed, and they have more individual talent.

Solid opening for the ladies, they were down 2-0 to Argentina and came back to tie 2-2.

Got up really early to watch it and NBC impressed me by having it in HD. Big game against Japan on Tuesday morning, hopefully they pick up a win.

I'm with ya....it doesn't matter what sport is being played really, just the competition in the Olympics brings out the best.i think watching your home Country compete for Gold is as exciting as watching the Championship game in american sports,Baseball,Football,Hockey ect........

I absolutely love the Summer/Winter Olympics.great competition!!
