I have a golden doodle and she is so thin! She is 40 pounds, but I can feel her ribs and I just feel that she should be a little bigger. I feed her the recommended amount that it says to feed a 60-80 pound dog. She is fed twice a day. I have also changed types of food. I have gotten some food that includes a lot of protein and nothing seems to help. She also gets scraps from us. We give her a little bit of steak fat, steak bones, vegetables and whatever other scraps we may have. She is a very energetic dog and has a lot of energy so I'm sure she has a high metabolism. Is there anything else I can do to help her gain weight besides giving her double the amount of food. - Doing that would cause me to go broke.
