What's a carpet mill? Are they just as expensive as a tread mill? Are they heavier or lighter than your average treadmill?

A carpet mill is a self driven treadmill for dogs, i built my own for under 100$ but you can buy them for about 300$ i think. Im not sure on the weight, but, they are lighter than a real tread mill.
