So as it turned out, Gator broke his collar (and he had a nice $30 buckle collar, not a snap on) and then chewed through Bambi's dog pen and bred to her. She had three puppies last week (first litter), one caught pneumonia and didn't make it past the second night, but the other two are healthy as can be.So now I have two RE/OFRN & Redboy puppies, cute as a button; it wasn't in my plans to breed her anytime soon but I couldnt ever bop'em upside the head like some people would do.Will post pictures soon!

My brother's dog ate through a wire crate, a bathroom door and then a wall to get to his female when she went into heat. With a determined male, whatever precautions you have taken...double them!!!
Glad the surviving pups are doing well. You didn't realize she was pregnant in time to do a spay-abort? |

Keeping the puppies until they're old enough to rehome, I've already found them good homes, and spay abort? No, I did think about taking her to get an abortion but I couldn't bring myself to do it with me being pregnant I felt it would be bad karma. Also, I got the collar from the co-op, it's a heavy duty collar, so I didn't thi k he would bust the actual buckle. It wasn't irresponsible ownership, and it's slightly aggravating to always see people insulting one another on this site. The puppies will be taken to the vet before rehomed, and the homes have already been checked out and approved. I took precautions chaining Bambi up INSIDE a dog pen, I didn't know Gator would bust his collar and chew a dang 2ft hole and get her, she was about out of heat by then. Please y'all, this site is supposed to be bringing dog owners together, not having patronizing dog owners jump down everyones throats.

What you have are 2 culls. There were also things that could have been done long before them things were born. A shot can be given right after the breeding, there is also shots that can be given @ around the 30 day mark. Irresponsible ownership doesn't mean they had to continue with the pregnancy. Bad karma my ass. If anything you'd have done that poor dog a favor. And I hate to be an ass and assume, but let me guess, when you say she was just about out of heat, she was about to be done bleeding? |

Anyways, despite all the criticism thank you, Tahlz, these puppies are going to be in good homes for working purposes and I'll be able to check up on them routinely. And yes bad karma, really, that's what I believe, you may have done it differently, but not everyone thinks like you. So sorry we disagree on that, I'm starting to see why people have been saying that this site ain't very useful thanks to know-it-alls who assume everyone else is an idiot other than themselves.

First off, my dogs aren't mutts, they're both pure bred whether APBT or Ambully, I can get papers on them but I personally don't care for papers since I'm not showing them and use them for hunting purposes. Secondly, my "breeding" as you so called it was planned, so thank you for making more ignorant assumptions. I would understand calling them mutts if my Ridgeback/APBT bred to her, but I neutered him to prevent more mixes. My "mutts" are being sold as working dogs for $150 to good homes out in the sticks, for people who are serious about working dogs, not showing or papers. $150 for a mutt, must be one hell of a mutt. I've been offered plenty of money before to breed my dogs but chose not to

I am sure she planned on her dogs collar breaking.. I don't see her being an idiot, the collar broke, it happens. Equipment breaks. I am a huge believer in Karma and I see it happen. So, how old are the pups now?.
---------- Post added at 10:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:49 PM ---------- I have no problem with the whole dogs being bred when it comes to hunting. Many hunters do it, depending what they need. How often do you go hunting with your dogs?. |

APBT being bred to an Am Bully is a litter of mutts, period. So, you found homes for these 2? Great. Now go read my rant thread about a dog from my brothers accidental litter, Petey, that went to a good home until things changed and how hard it was for me to find a place for him to go.
You still haven't answered my question. Are you spaying her or hoping to make a few bucks from the next time they "accidentally" breed?? |
